To inculcate the scientific temperament & amplitude, among the impressionable young minds, a trip to Science City Kapurthala was organized by Akal Academy Chogawan was organized. This academy was constructed in the memory of S. Chambail Singh.

The subject areas covered include physical, applied, natural and social sciences, engineering, technology, Jurassic parks, the environment, ecosystems, as well as frontier areas like space, nuclear science, information technology, robotics and Bio-technology.

It was a great experience for the students. Such enriching experiences are meant to trigger off the imagination and creativity among the students along with encouraging the inquisitive minds to inculcate the spirit of exploration.

Junk food go away because fruits are here to stay!

In order to create and educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits in our regular diet, Akal Academy Khera celebrated Fruit Day with kids of the junior section.

Teachers encouraged children to include vegetables and fruits in their meals also explaining the importance of fruits’ and vegetables’ intake in diet for mental and physical growth. Interesting themes were used to help them know more about the taste, smell, color and texture of each fruit.

Children were also made to understand the importance of washing the fruits before using them eating or cooking and about the benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables. Children enjoyed this special session.

Akal Academy Chogawan, In the memory of S. Chambail Singh Ji conducted a Parent-Teacher Interaction session and to inculcate the feelings of sewa among students, Chabeel was organized. Students served sweet chilling drink to the passers-by, providing them relief in the scorching heat.

According to a research, nearly half of a child’s achievement in school can be accounted for by factors outside the school, including parental support. Akal academies ensure that such interaction sessions are based on this principle.

Through such interactions on a regular basis, parents are motivated to ensure to contribute to the school by assuring full attendance of their child, displaying positive attitude towards the school and support their child in his growing academic needs. They are kept upto date with the child’s academic performances.

On the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Amar Das Ji, Akal Academy Bhadaur organized Gurmat Quiz in the central corridor of Block A after a short break. It was gracefully conducted by Atul House’s In charges and the divinity teachers.

There were 4 groups who participated in it. Students of all houses took part in it. Participants were divided into smaller groups based on their ages so that each child could get maximum attention and take the best out of the program. Their result was as follows; the First position was bagged by Abhay House, Second by Atul house & Third by Ajay & Amul House.

It was held in the presence of the Principal Ma’am Ms. Gurdeep Kaur. Students are motivated to be well aware of the Life History of the Great Guru Sahibs. The students showed immense curiosity in learning facts about their Sikh Heritage. It was a refreshing break from the monotonous day’s schedule which helped them gain an insight of sacrifices made by our Gurus.

Kalgidhar Society- Baru Sahib have strived to take charge of 129 academies which are set up in remote inaccessible areas, which are generally missed out by government and private education system, which find them enviable. Students are armed with Value Based Education as well as modern scientific education, providing them a platform to rise.

It is imbibing Human Values to around 5500 students in its lap and around 60,000 students studying in 129 Akal Academies across North India.

Teachers always ensure there is no need for students to look for expensive tuitions or external guidance. The supreme sacrifice of Guru Arjun Dev ji for the cause of religion ushered a new era in the history of Sikhism. On May 22, 2015, a grand programme was organized in the premises of Gurudwara Gomti Sahib to commemorate this historic and tragic day.

All the school children along with their class teachers presented themselves very devotedly in Darbar Sahib. The early morning witnessed a very pleasant devotional surrounding as fragrance of chanting of the holy verses, hymns and shalokas from the scriptures filled the atmosphere with divine echos. The Akal children, after the morning nitnem, recited the path of Sri Sukhmani Sahib and then a number of activities related with the life of Guru Sahib were performed.

A part from bhog ceremony a variety of other programmes and activities were prepared and beautifully performed on the stage.

A group of students from class VI sang in favour of “Khalsa”. Class V students Arshdeep Singh glorified Guruji’s sacrifice through “ Tatti Naloon Tattey nain Iraadey”. Class VIII students Manjot Singh, Dilpreet Singh held the congregation spell-bound with their recitation of “ Sri Guru Arjun Dev ji Sahib” and a Kavishri- describing the martyrdom of Guru Sahib. Recitation of shabad “ Khet jo Madio Soorma” and “ Japio jin Arjun Dev Guru by class XII and seven students emotionally recounted the importance of the invaluable sacrifices of Guru sahib.

At this juncture a “ Shabeel” was organized and the devotees were served with sweet water and black boiled chanas”(gram) as Guru Ka Atoot Langar. All the influential personalities of the area were also these to enjoy the discourses of the religious heads.

The programme came to an end with the Ardas by Gurpal Singh of class XII and a speech of principal Madam Mrs. Pawan Sahni.

Class 12th results for the academic session 2014-15 of village ReethKheri Akal Academy has set the rural women & the village abuzz; Topper in Patiala District come from Akal Academy Reetkheri.

Puneet Kaur of the Akal Academy secured 97.2% marks and becomes the toppers in Patiala district. Around 20 students of eleven different schools of Patiala city secured more than 95% marks. The principals of these schools congratulated the students for their distinguished results and shared these proud moments with parents and teachers of the students.

While the Celebrations erupted at her home and school, It became a matter great pride and endeavor that the students have scored exceptional scores and set an exemplary for many others, despite of having a rural background. Time & Again they have proved that hard work & determination can take help them get through anything in life, come what may.

The most surprising part is that none of the students of Akal Academies are subscribed to the tradition of taking tuitions; in fact the responsibility of support & guidance beyond schooling hours is fulfilled by the Academy staff, within the school itself, even if it has to be working beyond the stipulated hours.

Teachers always ensure there is no need for students to look for expensive tuitions or external guidance; they believe that course textbooks along with focused training is sufficient to crack through board examinations with flaring scores.

The students of Academy along with their teachers recited the various Shabad in the remembrance of Guru sahib’s unparalleled sacrifices.

Students of junior classes reciting poem, Kavishris created a pleasant devotional surrounding and the fragrance of the holy verses, hymns filled the atmosphere with divine echos.

An Essay writing competition was conducted for students of VI to XII. This programme was organized by House Masters, Punjabi, and Divinity & Music department collectively.

The programme met with its end with a remarkable speech delivered by the Principal who motivated the students to lead their life on the basis of ethical value and Principles of the Gurus of the Sikhism.

Students were full of enthusiasm to display their talents. Principal (Ms. Gurdeep Kaur) also took around for supervision on Monday. She encouraged the students to do their best for showing creativity. Each group tried their level best to win the competition. From this activity students came to know the value of waste materials. Nothing is useless if we have capability/ creativity to utilize it in proper way.
