CHANDIGARH: The coveted organization, Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib is holding a symposium on substance abuse and de-addiction. The organization is also holding prestigious 4th International Nursing Conference.

Talking to the media persons today at the announcement of dates for the event, Col. Dr Rajinder Singh (Retd) Advisor, Psychiatry, Indian Army and Director, De-Addiction Centre, Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib said that substance abuse and addiction embedded in the society can be rooted out with community participating in this drive against drugs. To ensure this community participation the symposium is being held. Symposium will also witness pre- conference workshop on HIV/AIDS on October 10.

A charitable organization The Kalgidhar Society – Baru Sahib has already been working amongst the masses at grass root level. It has 129 low cost CBSE schools, 24 colleges, 2 private universities, six teachers training centers, 280 bed hospital, three de-addiction centers, one each orphanage, old age home and rehabilitation centre for distressed women.

The splendid campus at Baru Sahib will also host 4th International Nursing Conference on October 11 and October 12. Col Singh said that the conference aims at making participants be aware of new advances in gynaecology and obstetrical nursing, to practice new techniques in clinical care both in gynaecology and obstetrical nursing, to initiate research studies in midwifery practice and to overcome challenges and issues related to midwifery care.

This international conference is fourth in the row and has become a platform of collaborative learning in the North India. The theme of this year’s conference is gynaecology and obstetrical nursing: new insight in research, diagnosis and clinical care.
