The old age home set up by The Kalgidhar Society at Baru Sahib, Himachal Pradesh, is a home for numerous elderly people. The most severely isolated and lonely are people over 75, particularly older women, those who are widowed and those living alone who are considered burden.
Valley of Divine Peace
Older adults enjoy the beauty of great outdoors in The Valley of Divine Peace. Here, in an atmosphere of understanding and respect, new friendships are formed. Senior citizens are provided with utmost care.
The center provides a variety of activities to meet diverse needs. All their daily needs including food, clothing, medical services and lodging are taken care by The Kalgidhar Society.
Most of the young children in rural North India have to stay at home due to poverty and lack of educational opportunities around their villages. They indulge in household work or child labor. Your sponsorship could change that. Your donation is tax exempt. The Kalgidhar Society is a registered charitable organization in USA, Canada, UK and India.
How We Do?
With their dwindling financial resources and weakening health, elderly are often being perceived as a burden and even while living within the family, may face violence and neglect. Many senior citizens are living without children.

An old-age home has been set up at Baru Sahib for numerous elderly people. Some of them are trained professionals while some are retired officers/officials from various departments – civil, army, accounts, income tax, science, medicine, engineering, etc. These senior citizens enjoy the beauty of great outdoors in The Valley of Divine Peace.
The Old Age Home provides a variety of activities to meet there diverse needs. All their daily needs including food, clothing, medical services and lodging are taken care of by the organization. They also do voluntary work in various fields commensurate with their qualifications and experience at Baru Sahib.
