Destined to Serve: Alumnus Jeevan Singh Bhatth from village Rayia prepares for IAS

SatSriAkal… I am Jeevan Singh Bhatth, an Akal Academy Bhadaur alumnus – Batch 2009, I hail from a small village called Rayia in Bhatinda. I did my entire schooling from the Akal Academy which was located at a distance of 11 Kms from my village, thanks to the great facilitation of Bus service that everything went smooth and easy.

I belong to an agrarian family, my house is a housewilfe and I also have a younger sister who is still studying. With grace of almighty our family has enough land – so our family never had to face any difficulties during my schooling, moreover my parents have also been very cooperative and supportive about education, their support still continues at their best possible extent.

Even now I miss the school, the environment was fantastic , the Principal S.Kanwalpreet Kaur Sandha was great…really no one can be as good as her, even though she is now settled in Canada but we are still in touch. Besides, the atmosphere at school was very good – that routine of doing ‘Paath’, going to gurdwara, I miss all especially when my current hectic lifestyle which rarely allows me to follow the old routines.

Life at school felt just like home, we felt as if we were being provided education at home, there was everything we wanted, they gave us everything we asked for, everyone, including teachers and the staff were very cooperative and supporting.

Life is little tough now, especially because I am preparing for IAS exams. Post school I did my B.Tech from Banda Singh Bahadur College which I completed in 2013, after which I have been preparing for IAS and currently I am also pursuing an additional course of Public Administration. I am also trying for PCS (Punjab Civil Services), eyeing the post of DSP or SDM. I am hoping for the best and seek your blessings and good wishes.

My message to the Academy is to allow senior alumni of the school to visit school to mentor other students by sharing their experiences and some career counseling, especially for the 10th and +2 Students.

For rural parents I would like to appeal that do send your children to good school and do the best in your capacity to provide for their education. For students, do hard work and everything is possible, if you try anything can be achieved and whatever you want will definitely happen and you will reach your goal.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
