Many members of the Karmapa Nyingmapa sect had embraced Guru Nanak\u2019s teachings after his interactions with Sidhas near Kailash Mansarovar. His visit to Gurudongmar became a beacon of hope for these displaced communities.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Miracle_of_Gurudongmar_Lake\"><\/span>The Miracle of Gurudongmar Lake<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The lake remained frozen for most of the year, causing great difficulty for the local people. They approached Guru Nanak Dev Ji for help. According to local tradition, Guru Ji struck the frozen lake with his walking stick (dong), and the ice melted.
