Sponsored by The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib, the championship brought together 35 teams\u201425 in the Men&#8217;s section and 10 in the Women&#8217;s section\u2014from across Punjab to showcase their chess prowess.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Esteemed_Guests_and_Motivational_Messages\"><\/span>Esteemed Guests and Motivational Messages<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The championship was graced by the presence of Prof. Gurmail Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Akal University, as the chief guest. In his inspiring address, Prof. Singh congratulated all the participants for their active involvement and encouraged them to seize such opportunities to excel in life.<\/p>\n<p>The event also featured Mr. Bikramjeet Singh Sandhu, President of the Punjab State Chess Association, who applauded the participants and emphasized the significance of such tournaments in promoting chess as a sport in Punjab.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Selection_for_the_National_Team_Championship\"><\/span>Selection for the National Team Championship<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The championship had a significant purpose: to select the Punjab State Chess Team for both the Men\u2019s and Women\u2019s categories.
