The idea of setting up her own clinic and serving the poor fascinated her mind. She found joy in healing and solace in serving, and it soon became clear that becoming a doctor wasn\u2019t just a profession for her\u2014it was her calling.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Akal_Academy_%E2%80%93_The_Foundation_of_Success\"><\/span>Akal Academy &#8211; The Foundation of Success<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Gurparam credits Akal Academy, Baru Sahib, for laying the foundation of her success. Reflecting on her time there, she shares:<br \/>\n\u201cAkal Academy played a huge role in shaping my vision. The spiritual environment of Baru Sahib aligned me with my goal of becoming a doctor. Babaji\u2019s teachings and the values of Sikhi kept us grounded and focused on our purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Academy taught her not just academics but also life values\u2014simplicity, spirituality, and authenticity. These lessons became her guiding principles as she worked toward her dreams.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Power_of_the_Turban\"><\/span>The Power of the Turban<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>One of the most significant milestones in Gurparam\u2019s journey was embracing the Dastaar (turban) while studying at Baru Sahib. She shares how it became a source of empowerment and pride:<br \/>\n\u201cThe Dastaar makes us feel unique; it sets us Sikhs apart from others. It is not just a piece of cloth; it is a symbol of our identity and faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quoting the Sikh belief<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u201c\u0a1c\u0a2c \u0a32\u0a17 \u0a16\u0a3e\u0a32\u0a38\u0a3e \u0a30\u0a39\u0a47 \u0a28\u0a3f\u0a06\u0a30\u0a3e, \u0a24\u0a2c \u0a32\u0a17 \u0a24\u0a47\u0a1c \u0a26\u0a40\u0a13 \u0a2e\u0a48 \u0a38\u0a3e\u0a30\u0a3e\u0965\u201d<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong>(&#8220;As long as Khalsa preserves its uniqueness and follows the path of the true Guru, I will bless them with all my powers.&#8221;)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>For Gurparam, her turban became more than an adornment\u2014it was her strength and dignity, fueling her confidence and resilience throughout her journey.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Closer_to_the_Dream\"><\/span>Closer to the Dream<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>After completing her MBBS, Gurparam is now preparing for her MD abroad. She plans to take the United States Medical Licensing Examinations and the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Exam. Each step brings her closer to the childhood dream that shaped her life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Speaking about this accomplishment, she says:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrust me, it feels proud to say I\u2019m a doctor today. It\u2019s only possible because of the values I embraced and the Dastaar I wore in the divine valley of Baru Sahib.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Testament_to_Empowerment\"><\/span>A Testament to Empowerment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For Gurparam, the turban is more than just an identity\u2014it is a constant reminder of her purpose and the strength she carries.
