My father, Nirmal Singh, worked tirelessly as a farmer to support us, while my mother took care of the household. Like many families in our village, we lacked awareness of religion and spirituality. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food were common in our home, with my father battling an addiction that strained our family\u2019s resources.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Turning_Point_%E2%80%93_Baru_Sahib_Akal_Academy\"><\/span>The Turning Point &#8211; Baru Sahib Akal Academy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>My life took a transformative turn when, after my 5th grade, my father decided to send me to Baru Sahib Akal Academy. What I experienced there was beyond just a change\u2014it was a profound transformation. From being a non-religious &#8220;cut-surd,&#8221; I embraced the path of a Pooran Gursikh. Spirituality became an integral part of my life, thanks to the inspiring teachers who led by example.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ravinder Singh Ji\u2019s humble and selfless life particularly motivated me. The ethos of Baru Sahib encouraged me to embrace goodness, humility, and selflessness. This transformation wasn\u2019t limited to me; it created a ripple effect that reached my family.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Ripple_Effect_of_Transformation\"><\/span>A Ripple Effect of Transformation<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The values I learned at Baru Sahib inspired my father to make significant changes in his life. He gave up alcohol and non-vegetarian food, which had a lasting impact on our family\u2019s well-being. With improved finances and stability, my younger sister was also able to enroll at Baru Sahib, continuing the legacy of transformation.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Balancing_Spirituality_and_Academic_Excellence\"><\/span>Balancing Spirituality and Academic Excellence<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Baru Sahib\u2019s unique approach to blending spirituality with academics played a pivotal role in shaping my future. The five years I spent there laid a strong foundation for life. I achieved an impressive 96% in my 10th-grade examinations, a testament to the institution\u2019s ability to nurture both mind and soul.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Bright_Future_and_a_Commitment_to_Give_Back\"><\/span>A Bright Future and a Commitment to Give Back<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Currently, I am pursuing Mechanical Engineering at Petroleum University and have already secured a job offer from L&amp;T. With the blessings of Waheguru, I plan to pursue further studies abroad.<\/p>\n<p>For the people of rural Punjab, I have a simple message: education is the key to transformation. Baru Sahib and its academies are beacons of hope, empowering children with values and knowledge. I urge everyone to support The Kalgidhar Trust through Daswandh to help them expand their reach, build more schools, and combat societal issues like drug and alcohol abuse.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Grateful_Heart\"><\/span>A Grateful Heart<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The journey that began at Baru Sahib continues to inspire me every day.
