The Sangat praised his craftsmanship, and even Guru Sahib expressed happiness upon seeing it. Overwhelmed by appreciation, Bhai Laal Singh developed a sense of ego (haume) and proudly declared that no bullet could ever penetrate his shield.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"_The_Test_of_Ego_%E2%80%93_Guru_Sahibs_Challenge\"><\/span>\u00a0The Test of Ego &#8211; Guru Sahib\u2019s Challenge<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Hearing Bhai Laal Singh\u2019s bold claim, Guru Sahib decided to test the shield the next day. Bhai Laal Singh, still unaware of his mistake, confidently accepted the challenge. However, as he left the darbaar, realization struck him\u2014he had unknowingly challenged the Guru himself, the greatest warrior and spiritual master. Fear and regret filled his heart as he understood that nothing could stand before Guru Sahib\u2019s divine will.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Seeking_Forgiveness_and_the_Power_of_Ardaas\"><\/span>Seeking Forgiveness and the Power of Ardaas<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Deeply troubled, Bhai Laal Singh sought advice from his fellow Gursikhs. They reminded him that only one thing could save his honor\u2014true Ardaas (prayer) before Guru Sahib. That night, he prepared Karaah Parshaad (Degh) with full maryada (devotional discipline) and, along with other Gursikhs, performed sincere Ardaas, seeking Waheguru\u2019s protection. Bhai Laal Singh spent the entire night in prayer, repenting for his mistake and surrendering completely to Guru Sahib\u2019s will.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"_The_Divine_Test_%E2%80%93_Guru_Sahibs_Mercy_Prevails\"><\/span>\u00a0The Divine Test &#8211; Guru Sahib\u2019s Mercy Prevails<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The next morning, Bhai Laal Singh arrived at the darbaar with great humility, unlike the previous day. After the bhog of Kirtan, Guru Sahib instructed Bhai Aalam Singh to fire at the shield. Bhai Laal Singh, standing firm with his dhaal, immersed himself in Naam Simran and Paath. Three times, Bhai Aalam Singh fired, but each bullet missed the shield.<\/p>\n<p>Then, Guru Sahib himself took the gun, aiming at the dhaal. But instead of firing, he paused and smiled. After a few moments, Guru Sahib put the gun down and asked Bhai Laal Singh what he had done the previous night. Overcome with emotion, Bhai Laal Singh fell at Guru Sahib\u2019s feet and confessed everything.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"_Guru_Sahibs_Lesson_%E2%80%93_Faith_Overcomes_All_Obstacles\"><\/span>\u00a0Guru Sahib\u2019s Lesson &#8211; Faith Overcomes All Obstacles<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Guru Gobind Singh Ji, filled with love and compassion, declared that the shield was indeed unbreakable\u2014not because of its craftsmanship but because of Bhai Laal Singh\u2019s faith and Ardaas. Guru Sahib had protected his honor, proving that sincere prayers from a humble heart are always answered. However, Guru Sahib also advised Bhai Laal Singh never to speak with ego again, reminding him that true Sikhi is about humility and devotion.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Teachings_from_Bhai_Laal_Singhs_Story\"><\/span>Teachings from Bhai Laal Singh\u2019s Story<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Guru Sahib\u2019s Love for His Sikhs \u2013<\/strong> Guru Gobind Singh Ji did not expose Bhai Laal Singh\u2019s mistake but instead protected his honor, showing his immense love and mercy. Should we not dedicate ourselves fully to such a great Guru?<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Power of Ardaas \u2013<\/strong> When faced with difficulties, sincere Ardaas with faith can bring divine support. Preparing Degh with full maryada and performing Ardaas with humility can help in achieving success.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ego Has No Place in Sikhi \u2013<\/strong> Speaking with pride in the Sangat leads to downfall.
