For the past 19 years, I have dedicated myself to my career, embracing both challenges and achievements.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Embracing_Sikhism_Taking_Amrit\"><\/span>Embracing Sikhism &amp; Taking Amrit<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Though I was born a \u2018gori,\u2019 I embraced Sikhism about six years ago and recently took Amrit. My journey of faith led me to Gurdwara Chatti Patshahi in Srinagar, Kashmir\u2014my second home\u2014where I formally committed to the path of Guru Nanak.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Significance_of_the_Dastar\"><\/span>The Significance of the Dastar<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For the past two years, I have been tying a dastar daily, inspired by a Singhni in my local sangat. The teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji resonate deeply with me\u2014he promised to always stand by the Khalsa as long as we uphold our distinct identity. To me, the dastar is the most visible representation of that commitment.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Encouraging_More_Kaurs_to_Wear_the_Dastar\"><\/span>Encouraging More Kaurs to Wear the Dastar<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>I wish more young Singhnis would consider wearing the dastar, but I\u2019ve encountered resistance. Some believe women should be submissive and only wear chunnis to maintain femininity.
