It wasn\u2019t just a school\u2014it was the beginning of a movement to uplift rural children through education.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Growing_Against_the_Odds_2004\"><\/span>Growing Against the Odds (2004)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>By 2004, <strong>The Tribune spotlighted Akal Academy\u2019s rise<\/strong>. <strong>The Kalgidhar Society<\/strong> had already expanded to <strong>22 Akal Academies<\/strong> across <strong>Himachal Pradesh,<\/strong> <strong>Punjab,<\/strong> <strong>Haryana<\/strong>, <strong>Uttar Pradesh<\/strong>, and even <strong>Delhi<\/strong>, <strong>coaching students for top careers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Movement_Not_Just_a_School_2025\"><\/span>A Movement, Not Just a School (2025)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Fast forward to 2025, and that <strong>small school has grown<\/strong> into <strong>130 Akal Academies,<\/strong> empowering thousands of rural students.
