She loved learning, but tonight, something weighed on her heart. Mehak sighed, her fingers tightening around the fabric of her dupatta. She had always known this question would come.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cWe can\u2019t afford it, Simran,\u201d she said softly. \u201cYour brother\u2019s education comes first.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Voice_Against_Injustice\"><\/span>A Voice Against Injustice<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Simran\u2019s small hands clenched into fists. <strong>\u201cThat isn\u2019t fair! Every girl deserves to learn,\u201d<\/strong> she said, her voice trembling.<\/p>\n<p>Their mother, listening from the corner, walked over and wrapped both her daughters in a warm embrace. She had fought many silent battles of her own.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cSociety may take chances away from girls,\u201d she whispered, \u201cbut education is their birthright.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mehak smiled faintly but said nothing.
