Named after the Sanskrit word for \u201cequality,\u201d this initiative isn\u2019t just about teaching values. It\u2019s about embedding them deep into the roots of every child\u2019s mind.<br \/>\nThrough vibrant, age-appropriate storybooks and guided reflection, SAMATA aims to nurture Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) from early childhood.<br \/>\nWhy to prefer stories? Because they help children relate, question, and most importantly understand.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"It_Began_with_a_Spark_%E2%80%93_The_Day_the_Classroom_Felt_Real\"><\/span>It Began with a Spark &#8211; The Day the Classroom Felt Real<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The first morning opened with an infectious energy. Mrs. Manjushree Patil, with her heartfelt voice and dynamic presence, ignited the stage with activities that instantly bonded the group. Students and educators alike were invited to explore not only their intellects but their emotions..<br \/>\nClips from the powerful documentary like India\u2019s Daughter transported the room to the haunting memory of the Nirbhaya case. Tears welled, Faces froze, and something shifted .Everyone is froze &amp; tears welled up on their faces it was not just sadness it was awakening.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Storybooks_with_a_Soul_%E2%80%93_The_Language_of_Feelings\"><\/span>Storybooks with a Soul &#8211; The Language of Feelings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Each SAMATA storybook comes with built-in lesson plans and emotional cues. Teachers are trained to use voice modulation, pause for impact, and let students discuss what they feel not just what they think.<br \/>\nThe primary goals of SAMANTA ?<br \/>\nTo empower children with emotional vocabulary. To help them ask:<br \/>\n\u2022 \u201cHow am I feeling today?\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 \u201cHow do others feel?\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 \u201cWhat can I do to make someone feel seen and heard?\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cracking_the_Code_of_Stereotypes\"><\/span>Cracking the Code of Stereotypes<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Day two took an interesting turn.<br \/>\nIn small groups and open circles, children explored how gender stereotypes sneak into our everyday lives through games, conversations, even compliments. Discussions grew deeper, emotions got real, and understanding took root.<br \/>\nFor perhaps the first time, many students realized that \u201c<strong><em>equality isn\u2019t just about treating everyone the same. It\u2019s about giving everyone the same respect<\/em>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Mood_Meter_%E2%80%93_Naming_What_We_Feel\"><\/span>The Mood Meter &#8211; Naming What We Feel<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The \u201cMood Meter\u201d tool is introduced in four colors that helped childrens to see if their feelings are natural, and naming them is powerful. Teachers used the RULER method (Recognize, Understand, Label, Express, and Regulate) to model how to respond &amp; not to react to emotion.<br \/>\nStudents learned:<br \/>\n\ud83d\udfe5 Red = Angry\/Overwhelmed<br \/>\n\ud83d\udfe6 Blue = Sad\/Down<br \/>\n\ud83d\udfe9 Green = Calm\/Content<br \/>\n\ud83d\udfe8 Yellow = Excited\/Engaged<br \/>\nAnd just like that, a child who once screamed or sulked could now say:<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019m in the red. I need a moment.\u201d<br \/>\nIt has a profound progress.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Teachers_Are_The_New_Change-Makers\"><\/span>Teachers Are The New Change-Makers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This journey transformed the teachers also along with the children.<br \/>\nThey teachers are not only math or science instructors. They\u2019re emotion coaches the kids, &amp; shapes their identities. They are torchbearers of a more equitable world.<br \/>\nWith SAMATA, teachers became mentors in the truest sense opening space for students to be heard, respected, and celebrated for who they are.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Personal_Thought_From_SAMATA_Team\"><\/span>Personal Thought From SAMATA Team<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><em>\u201cLet us not prepare children for the world as it is.
