But at <strong>Akal Academy, Kajri Niranjanpur,<\/strong> fear gave way to awareness, and awareness gave way to action. On February 5, 2016, <strong>Abhai House<\/strong> led the charge in organizing a powerful <strong>Cancer Awareness Programme<\/strong> that enlightened young minds and inspired the school community to take a stand.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Learning_to_Save_Lives_%E2%80%93_The_Programme_Begins\"><\/span>Learning to Save Lives &#8211; The Programme Begins<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Hosted in the <strong>School Library Hall,<\/strong> the session began with <strong>Abhai House Master,<\/strong> <strong>Mr. Vattanpreet Singh,<\/strong> welcoming teachers and students. His opening remarks emphasized the pressing need for education about cancer, its causes, and how proactive knowledge can save lives. Cancer does not always have to be a death sentence. When we educate ourselves, we empower others too.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_Cancer\"><\/span>What Is Cancer?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Biology teacher <strong>Ms. Navneet Kaur<\/strong> took center stage next with a detailed, engaging talk. Using charts, diagrams, and real-life case examples, she simplified the complex subject of cancer for the students. From understanding what cancer is, to identifying different types, symptoms, and early warning signs her session was packed with eye-opening facts and life-saving tips.<br \/>\nSome Shocking Yet Hopeful Insights Shared:-<br \/>\n<em>\u2022 13% of all global deaths are caused by cancer.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u2022 30% of cancer cases can be prevented by lifestyle changes.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u2022 1\/3rd of cancers can be cured if detected early.<\/em><br \/>\nHer session emphasized that Prevention is the best cure.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Voices_of_Concern_and_Care\"><\/span>Voices of Concern and Care<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mr. Ashok Singh Guleria,<\/strong> renowned educator and <strong>Head of English Department,<\/strong> took a reflective turn, sharing stories and statistics on the impact of cancer in India<strong>.<\/strong> His talk stirred emotions and sparked questions about lifestyle choices, environment, and early detection.<br \/>\nMedia Coordinator<strong> Mr. Phillip Xavier, Mr. Sudhir Kumar, and Mrs. Nidhi Kaur<\/strong> also lent their voices and support, sharing short messages that reinforced the importance of community-led awareness.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Applause_for_Abhai_House\"><\/span>Applause for Abhai House<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Principal Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind<\/strong> appreciated the dedicated efforts of <strong>Abhai House<\/strong> in organizing the session.
