For me, nation-building begins with education\u2014quality education that is rooted in values.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>August 3, 2025<\/strong>, I had the privilege to participate in a panel discussion on the theme <strong>\u201cPunjab at Crossroads: Teach or Preach?\u201d<\/strong> The conversation revolved around a vital question\u2014how can we transform rural India through education?<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Panel_of_Change-Makers\"><\/span>Panel of Change-Makers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The session brought together eminent professionals and thought leaders:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kanwar Singh \u2013 Oracle India<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Lavinder Duggal \u2013 HTL AIRCON Services Pvt. Ltd.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Manpreet Singh Ahuja \u2013 PwC India<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Amarpreet K. Ghura \u2013 FLAME University<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Together, we shared perspectives on the urgent need to integrate values into education, especially in rural India, where transformation is most needed.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_Value-Based_Education_Matters\"><\/span>Why Value-Based Education Matters<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It is clear to me that value-based education is the true game-changer for any nation. It not only imparts knowledge but also shapes responsible, ethical, and contributing citizens. Without values, education remains incomplete.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Inspiring_Role_of_The_Kalgidhar_Society\"><\/span>The Inspiring Role of The Kalgidhar Society<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>At the heart of this mission is <strong>The Kalgidhar Society, Baru Sahib<\/strong>. With over <strong>130 rural schools<\/strong>,<strong> two universities<\/strong>, and <strong>several other institutions spread across Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand , and Uttar Pradesh,<\/strong> the Society has become a torchbearer of educational reform.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Free and Aided Education:<\/strong> A large portion of students come from underprivileged families and receive free or heavily subsidized education.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focus on Female Education:<\/strong> In rural areas where educating girls was once neglected, Kalgidhar Society has made it a priority, ensuring women become equal contributors in society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Call_to_Collective_Action\"><\/span>A Call to Collective Action<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If India is to become truly independent in spirit, we must support and strengthen organizations like The Kalgidhar Society.
