Beside a broken cot, he speaks gently to a group of children, his words steady like a lighthouse in a storm:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t be afraid, children\u2026 no matter what happens, we will study, we will learn, and our dreams will shine bright.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some of the children still hold back tears, their soaked notebooks clutched to their chests as if they were holding on to their entire world. Sitting close together, they nod slowly\u2014because in their hearts, they believe him.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Education_as_a_Ray_of_Light\"><\/span>Education as a Ray of Light<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Even in their darkest hour, these children are reminded that education is the one thing no disaster can wash away.
