A Ray of Hope in Bhai Desa<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>On 10th November 2013,<\/strong> the spirit of sewa once again illuminated <strong>Rural Punjab<\/strong> as <strong>The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib,<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Nishkam Medical Care Society, Patiala,<\/strong> organized its <strong>57th Free Medical Check-Up and Treatment Camp at village Bhai Desa, District Mansa.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe initiative was a heartfelt step in the Trust\u2019s continuous mission to reach the unreached, bringing quality healthcare to the remotest corners of <strong>India\u2019s northern villages.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1150_Lives_Touched_with_Compassion\"><\/span>1150 Lives Touched with Compassion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A team of dedicated doctors and healthcare experts from <strong>Patiala<\/strong> volunteered their time and expertise to conduct over <strong>1150 free medical check-ups,<\/strong> offering medicines and treatments at no cost to the patients.<br \/>\nFor many villagers, this camp wasn\u2019t just about treatment it was about hope, care, and being seen by those who truly care.<br \/>\n<em>\u201cWe come here not as doctors, but as servants of humanity,\u201d<\/em> said <strong>Dr. M.R.S. Mehta,<\/strong> one of the key members of the medical team.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Day_of_Dignity_and_Devotion\"><\/span>A Day of Dignity and Devotion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The camp was inaugurated by <strong>Rajya Sabha Member, Sardar Balvinder Singh Bhondadh,<\/strong> who commended the efforts of <strong>The Kalgidhar Trust<\/strong> and <strong>Akal Academy, Bhai Desa<\/strong> for making healthcare accessible to those who need it most.<br \/>\n<strong>Principal Gurjeet Kaur of Akal Academy, Bhai Desa<\/strong> shared that the school takes immense pride in being a part of these sewa-driven initiatives teaching students that true education begins with service.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Chain_of_Compassion_Continues\"><\/span>A Chain of Compassion Continues<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This camp followed the successful <strong>56th Free Medical Camp<\/strong> at <strong>Akal Academy Rajia,<\/strong> where over <strong>400 patients<\/strong> were treated. The medical team, led by <strong>Nishkam Medical Care Society,<\/strong> is also preparing for the next major phase Free Operations and Surgeries to be held on <strong>22nd\u201324th November<\/strong> at <strong>Akal Charitable Hospital, Baru Sahib (Himachal Pradesh).<\/strong><br \/>\nDuring the camps, doctors identified patients requiring surgical procedures and have registered them for completely free surgeries and follow-up care ensuring healing continues long after the camp ends.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Lessons_Beyond_the_Classroom\"><\/span>Lessons Beyond the Classroom<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For students of <strong>Akal Academies,<\/strong> these camps are more than community projects they are life lessons in empathy, teamwork, and humility.
