From gathering wood for fuel to washing utensils, she kept herself busy and isolated from the laughter of the outside world.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Silent_Struggle\"><\/span>The Silent Struggle<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Unlike other kids her age, <strong>Manisha<\/strong> grew into the prime years of her childhood becoming more conscious and losing confidence in herself.<br \/>\nHer problem was not something others could easily empathize with her inability to smile was a gift nature had mistakenly given her at birth. <strong>Manisha<\/strong> was born with a congenital deformity known as a <strong>Cleft Lip,<\/strong> caused by abnormal facial development during gestation a defect that affects <strong>1 in every 700 infants.<\/strong><br \/>\nAlthough this condition can be medically treated through surgery, many children remain untreated due to financial hardship or lack of access to healthcare.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hope_Arrives_from_the_Hills_of_Baru_Sahib\"><\/span>Hope Arrives from the Hills of Baru Sahib<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Fortunately, destiny had something beautiful planned for <strong>Manisha.<\/strong> Her case was identified during one of the <strong>FREE Medical Camps<\/strong> at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/akalhospital.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Akal Charitable Hospital, Baru Sahib<\/a>,<\/strong> about <strong>85 km<\/strong> <strong>from her village.<\/strong><br \/>\nVolunteers from <strong>The Kalgidhar Trust,<\/strong> who organized the camp, learned about <strong>Manisha<\/strong> through other patients.
