Life in Sohain Khurd<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Sumandeep Kaur, 18,<\/strong> daughter of <strong>Sukhwinder Singh, a farmer,<\/strong> and <strong>Maljeet Kaur,<\/strong> hails from the small village of <strong>Sohain Khurd in Amritsar, Punjab <\/strong>a region often criticized for its gender bias and restrictions on women\u2019s rights.<br \/>\nLimited by resources, most families in her village would invest only in educating their sons, as schools were far and expenses high.<br \/>\n<strong>Suman\u2019s<\/strong> family of five her father, grandmother, brother, and mother was already struggling when tragedy struck.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Loss_That_Shook_Her_World\"><\/span>The Loss That Shook Her World<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>At just 16, <strong>Suman<\/strong> lost her mother, her greatest source of strength.<br \/>\n<em>\u201cI was very scared when my mother died,\u201d<\/em> she recalls.<em> \u201cIt really made me daunted because my mother&#8217;s sudden demise made me lose my courage. My father&#8217;s emotional state started deteriorating and he got addicted to alcohol. My family even lost its faith in daily prayers to God.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\nHer words reflect the despair of a young girl who saw her family crumble before her eyes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Ray_of_Hope_%E2%80%93_Education_as_Her_Path_to_Strength\"><\/span>A Ray of Hope &#8211; Education as Her Path to Strength<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Despite the heartbreak and adversity, <strong>Sumandeep<\/strong> completed her schooling under <strong>PSEB,<\/strong> keeping her mother\u2019s dream alive that her daughter would be educated.<br \/>\nUnderstanding her family\u2019s financial struggles, she applied for the <strong>FREE Teachers Training Skill Development Program<\/strong> at the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.airwe.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Akal Institute of Rural Women Empowerment, Baru Sahib<\/a>,<\/strong> run by <strong>The Kalgidhar Trust.<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cThe idea of getting a chance to receive education for free, along with food and accommodation, was awe-inspiring,\u201d<\/em> says <strong>Sumandeep.<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cI learnt that the Kalgidhar Trust was doing this especially for rural girls like me from villages where people cannot afford education or believe it\u2019s a waste for girls.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Rising_from_the_Ashes_%E2%80%93_A_Mission_to_Educate_and_Inspire\"><\/span>Rising from the Ashes &#8211; A Mission to Educate and Inspire<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Having faced extreme hardship, <strong>Sumandeep<\/strong> developed a deep awareness of society\u2019s struggles especially drug and alcohol addiction and vowed to make education her tool for change.<br \/>\nShe dreams of becoming a teacher and guiding rural youth toward a brighter, addiction-free future.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Transformation_at_Home_%E2%80%93_Faith_Restored\"><\/span>Transformation at Home &#8211; Faith Restored<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Sumandeep\u2019s<\/strong> progress inspired her family in unimaginable ways.<br \/>\nHer father, once addicted to alcohol, gave up drinking to support his daughter\u2019s dreams.<br \/>\nThe family rediscovered its faith in God and prayer, and her brother took baptism, embracing the Sikh way of life <strong>\u201cSikh\u201d<\/strong> meaning <strong>\u201clearner.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Realizing_the_Hidden_Blessing\"><\/span>Realizing the Hidden Blessing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Today, <strong>Suman<\/strong> believes that what once appeared to be a tragic twist of fate was, in fact, a divine plan leading her toward her purpose.<br \/>\nShe now understands that destiny\u2019s designs often seem painful at first, but they unfold into blessings with time and faith.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Divine_Message_%E2%80%93_Faith_and_Patience_Are_the_Keys\"><\/span>The Divine Message &#8211; Faith and Patience Are the Keys<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As humans, we often lose hope when faced with loss, questioning God\u2019s will.<br \/>\nBut, as <strong>Suman\u2019s<\/strong> story reminds us, the Almighty\u2019s ways are beyond human comprehension.<br \/>\nAll we can do is trust, wait, and hold onto faith, for patience is the only key to unlocking the mysteries of divinity.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Inspired_by_Sumans_Story\"><\/span>Inspired by Suman\u2019s Story?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>You too can help shape such inspiring journeys.<br \/>\nSponsor a rural child for a lifetime and give them a quality life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>God\u2019s Ways Are Unforeseen and Always for Our Good :\u00a0\u00a0 2013-09-23T06:32 We often hear our elders saying, \u201cGod&#8217;s ways are unforeseen and are good for one&#8217;s own sake.\u201d But when tragedy strikes, how can that possibly be for our benefit?
