It is these simple acts that matter most, as the greatest service to a human soul is the kindness of recognition.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"A_Divine_Mission_Amidst_the_Himalayas\"><\/span>A Divine Mission Amidst the Himalayas<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It is beyond a reasonable scope of comprehension that at a place where the official population is a paltry <strong>1860, The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib<\/strong> has managed such a colossus, so efficiently with Almighty\u2019s grace and blessings. We are astounded to see serene, picturesque and pristine environment amidst the mighty <strong>Himalayas<\/strong> and the dazzling spirit of the people linked with the valley of Divine Peace.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Operation_Rainbow_Canada_%E2%80%93_A_Mission_of_Compassion\"><\/span>Operation Rainbow Canada &#8211; A Mission of Compassion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/akalhospital.com\/operation-rainbow-canada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OPERATION RAINBOW CANADA<\/a>\u2019<\/strong> is a mission of the doctors of <strong>Canada<\/strong> to serve and comfort the impoverished and indigent people by curing their sores with proper medication, love and care. Kudos to the effort of <strong>Kalgidhar Trust,<\/strong> who with selfless devotion have associated themselves with this mission and offer charitable camps to the deprived in the divine <strong>valley of Himalayas, Baru Sahib.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Healing_Hands_Across_Borders\"><\/span>Healing Hands Across Borders<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Operation Rainbow Canada<\/strong> is a private, all-volunteer, non-profit medical services organization, which functions without paid staff and provides free reconstructive surgery and related health care for cleft lip and cleft palate deformities to needy children and young adults in developing countries.<br \/>\nThe medical teams perform reconstructive surgery for children and young adults whose families could not otherwise afford them. The patients are drawn from the indigenous population of the host country, and often families travel days from their homes in order to have their children treated.<br \/>\nIn addition to cleft lip and palate surgery, the teams also perform reconstructive surgery for burn and post contractures. Without corrective surgery, children born with cleft lip and cleft palate deformities are shunned, ostracized, denied schooling and eventually succumb to a solitary life lived in the protection of their homes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Essence_of_True_Giving\"><\/span>The Essence of True Giving<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Mother Teresa<\/strong> once said &#8211; <em>\u201cIt is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.\u201d<\/em><br \/>\nHere, the doctors serve all sections of people without any parochial bias.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Akal_Charitable_Hospital_%E2%80%93_Healing_with_Humanity\"><\/span>Akal Charitable Hospital &#8211; Healing with Humanity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-9149 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.barusahib.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/bdfbd.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/barusahib.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/bdfbd.png 490w, https:\/\/barusahib.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/bdfbd-300x197.png 300w, https:\/\/barusahib.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/bdfbd-370x243.png 370w, https:\/\/barusahib.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/bdfbd-270x177.png 270w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/akalhospital.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Akal Charitable Hospital<\/a>,<\/strong> set up by <strong>Kalgidhar Trust in Baru Sahib,<\/strong> organizes these <strong>free medical camps<\/strong> four times a year, where specialists from <strong>USA, Canada and several states of India<\/strong> volunteer their services to aid and assist the poor ones, who are unable to get themselves treated due to lack of funds, low income and unemployment.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.barusahib.org\/?s=medical+camp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Close to <strong>2000 patients<\/strong> attend each of these camps<\/a>, where more than <strong>100 operations<\/strong> are executed gratuitously.<br \/>\nSurgeries like hernia, hysterectomy, myringoplasty, cleft lip and cleft palate, skin grafting, contractures following burns and all kinds of general and orthopedic surgeries are performed free of cost in these life-giving camping grounds.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Restoring_Smiles_and_Dreams\"><\/span>Restoring Smiles and Dreams<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Trust and these dedicated doctors not only heal their wounds but bring back smiles on their faces and give wings to their dreams and aspirations. A person who is not able to walk or even stand on his feet is endowed with the endeavor to run like <strong>Milkha Singh and P.T. Usha.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Advanced_Medical_Care_in_the_Hills\"><\/span>Advanced Medical Care in the Hills<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Difficult-to-perform surgeries are carried out with the latest technology and gadgets. It is arduous to even imagine and perceive such successful and fruitful operations in a difficult-to-access, far-flung hilly area like <strong>Baru Sahib,<\/strong> implemented by the valiant and spectacular efforts of the doctors of <strong>Canada and India.<\/strong><br \/>\nThese procedures, when performed in such a holistic environment, have a multifaceted effect on the health of the patient, signifying the defeat of misery and a speedy recovery.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Facing_Challenges_with_Faith_and_Compassion\"><\/span>Facing Challenges with Faith and Compassion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced. Every problematic situation contains the seeds of its own solution, and the volunteers of the Trust affirm this by solving problems of thousands of people and filling their lives with joy and happiness.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Victory_for_Humanity\"><\/span>Victory for Humanity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A recovered patient after convalescing is a <strong>\u201cVictory for Humanity.\u201d<\/strong> Love, empathy, and compassion are necessities, not luxuries.
