As per the culture of Eternal University, every academic year Akal College of Arts and Social Sciences organises a youth cultural fest for aspirants assembling from various departments with a very high competitive spirit to participant and with the strong determination to include their achievements & accomplishments to their résumés.

UDAAN – 2015 was organized with the same enthusiasm and determination among the new set of student coordinators, student volunteers and faculty coordinator on September 11, 2015.

The programme took a lead after taking blessings from the Almighty, The Akal Purakh when the students from the Akal College of Divine Music and Spiritualism recited a Shabad Kirtan followed by performaces by the students of Arts and Divine Music.

Then there was a speech by Ms Karamjeet Kaur, a student B. A. (Hum.) Sem. I, on the topic – The Ideal Teachers Who Have Made The History.

An English song with the title – The Future, sung by Baljeet Kaur, a student of B. A. (Hum.) Sem. I followed by skit titled – Respect Your Elders by the students of B. A. (Hum.) Sem. I.

Choreographic song presented by the students really kept the crowd captivated for long. Students from Akal College of Divine Music and Spiritualism presented a choreographic song on the theme—Mother and Child. A play was presented on the theme – Hard Work is the Key of Success.

Girls from Akal College of Education performed an informative skit based on the theme – How a teacher can shape the destiny of his students. The students from ETT (girls from Akal Institute of Rural Women Empowerment) presented an exuberant choreography based on the song, Go, Light The World! The theme of this song was to enlighten the ignorant people in the world.

In the End, Dr Neelam Kaur, Principal Akal Academy and Dean, Akal College of Nursing and Health Sciences congratulated the students and the staff through her motivated speech. In her address to the students, she explained the six principles needed to be successful – hard work, passion, practice, urge to be remarkable, experience of failure, positive attitude. “Success is a journey and not a destination” she said.

Dr H. S. Dhaliwal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Eternal University, appreciated the efforts of the students and advised the students not to waste their time doing something they are not meant for. They should pursue a career in what they are passionate about and being an Eternalite, one gets tremendous scope of showing their talent in any field.

This programme was organized with the objective to provide platform for the students to showcase their talent with a competitive spirit. The event was successful enough to attract as many as 20 registrations which include all the events.

Focusing on the types of events to include in the fest was decided by fest coordinators keeping the interest and need of students into consideration, with little emphasis on the fun full events behind the scene.
