Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, sacrificed his life for the freedom of people and the protection of human rights. He opposed forced conversions and religious persecution, for which he was beheaded on the orders of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in 1675 at Chandni Chowk in Delhi. A fearless warrior and profound spiritual leader, he dedicated his life to serving humanity irrespective of religion, gender, caste, or race. His selfless sacrifice is remembered as an unparalleled act of humanitarianism.
