A prophecy, fulfilled three centuries later

A Prophecy, Fulfilled Through Education

“ਇਹ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹਮਾਰੀ ਕਾਸੀ। ਪੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ ਇਹਾਂ ਢੋਰ ਮਤਿ ਰਾਸੀ।”

More than three centuries ago, Guru Gobind Singh Ji envisioned Talwandi Sabo as a centre of knowledge and learning—“Guru Ki Kashi.” Today, that vision finds contemporary expression through Akal University, established in 2015 under the Akal University Act (Punjab Act No. 25 of 2015) and governed by The Kalgidhar Society under the leadership of Baba Iqbal Singh Ji.

Akal University is committed to creating an environment where education, research, innovation and human values come together. Located in a rural region of Punjab, the University seeks to make quality higher education accessible to students from diverse social and economic backgrounds while preparing them to contribute meaningfully to society.

The University places equal emphasis on teaching, learning and research, encouraging students to think critically, pursue knowledge and develop the skills required to navigate a rapidly changing world.

Through its academic programmes, research initiatives and interdisciplinary approach, Akal University aims to nurture responsible, ethical and globally minded individuals who can contribute to sustainable development, social progress and a more inclusive society.

The vision of Guru Ki Kashi therefore extends beyond any single faith or tradition—it represents the enduring idea of a place where knowledge is pursued, shared and used for the betterment of humanity.
