Service rendered by one’s own feet and hand for the welfare of humanity leads to the blessings of the divine lord.

Tendering the wounds, healing the sick and needy at the very initial stages and especially in case of emergency gives a person a new lease of life.

First Aid Technique plays a very important role in case of being handy during an emergency, be it an accident, natural calamities, disaster.

This book is an appreciable effort by the author S.Bhupinder Singh Kohli who has done tremendous hard work to bring all realistic techniques of First Aid applicable across all situation in a simple and a logical manner for basic understanding and using these as an emergency guiding tool for Lay Man for the needy.

Bhai Ghaniya Ji formally laid the foundation of First Aid service to humanity in the battlefield more than 300 yrs ago, with any caste distinction, or any disparity made on the basis of religion or faith.

This basic understanding of First Aid for all will help in mitigating miseries of humanity in the hour of need.

With a dream of becoming Scientist as Stephen William Hawking, this girl says that she stepped on the first ladder of becoming Scientist soon after she came to know about her 12th results declared by Haryana Board of Education.

Heena got first position in the state with 98.2% marks.

Heena said that she adopted smart ways of studies, when confused over clearing of topics, she took help from Internet search, teachers and books.

Father Prem Kumar, works at a photo framing shop and mother Pooja is housewife. Her mother Pooja said, “My daughter is really hard-working girl. She got 6th position in her class X examinations. After finishing her classes, she start her studies for two hours and 3 hours, early in the morning.”

Heena said that now her aim is to get admission at top level college to pursue her B.Tech in Computer Science. Her father Prem Kumar said that he is really happy and want Pooja’s bright future.

Her family’s income would not be sufficient to support her big dreams in future. Her ambition to pursue further education became viral on social media.

Akal University, Talwandi Sabo and Himachal’s Eternal University under the aegis of The Kalgidhar Trust decided to step forward and support her aspirations. Both these Universities have offered Heena FREE EDUCATION along with providing her free coaching facilities for UPSC exams.

The university has already been offering such educational opportunities to 2000 bright students. Their only aim is to help such students reach her goals and bring pride to the nation.

Fourty Eight students of the first batch of Masters from different departments of the University have been placed in various Akal Academies. Padam Vibhusan Awardee and Former Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agriculture University, Dr. Khem Singh Gill who is the Vice-President of the Kaligidhar Society gave the appointment letters to the selected students. Dr. Gill while congratulating the students appreciated the efforts of the University for imparting value based education along with a safe and secure environment to its students. Dr. Devender Singh, Secretary the Kaligidhar Society was also present in the function. Dr. Gurmail Singh also congratulated the students for this achievement and said that such events give opportunity to talented and deserving students to prove their intellect and technical ability. Ms. Heena Bindal, Assistant Professor, Department of English coordinated the function.

Distinguished judges Prof. Gagandeep Singh ( Punjabi University Regional Centre, Ghuda), Prof. Balraj Singh Brar (Punjabi University Regional Center, Talwandi Sabo) and Prof. Aman Malhotra ( DAV college, Bathinda) were present at the function to evaluate the participants in different events. Smt Surinder Kaur Sidhu, Deputy Comissioner, NVS, Regional Office, Chandigarh was the chief guest of the function. The vice-chancellor of the University, Prof. Gurmail Singh congratulated the participants for their active participation and motivated them to keep grabbing such opportunities. Prof N. K. Rahlan, Dean Research and all faculty members of the University were also present. The fair concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.

The Literary Society, Department of English and Punjabi, Akal University is organising Literary Patchwork’17 from March 06-10, 2107 on its premises which engulfs a series of events. Near about 600 students from eleven departments of the University are participating in various events. The patchwork began with Elocution and Literary Quiz premilinary round on March 6, 2017 and followed by Paint-A-Poster and Documentary Review on March 7, 2017. The literary fest also includes the celebration of International Women Day on March 8, 2017 by debating “Just like Housewives, we need househusbands” , a topic that questions and tries to re-define the constructed roles assigned to women by the patriarchal society. On the same day, one hundred and fifty-six students have participated in Picture Response competition. On March 09, 2017 students get a chance to reveal their intelligence and creativity through Quiz and Caption Writing competitions. The literary Patchwork will be culminated by Kavi Darbar and a special lecture by Gurpreet , a Punjabi Poet and Prof Mohan Singh Awardee on March 10, 2017.

Thirty five teams, including twenty five for Men section and ten for Women section, from all over Punjab have participated in the Chess Championship. Prof Gurmail Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Akal University was the chief guest of the function. He congratulated the participants for their active participation and motivated them to keep grabbing such opportunities. Mr. Bikramjeet Singh Sandhu, President of Punjab State Chess Association, was also there to convey his enthusiastic approval. A state team will be selected for the National Team Championship from both Men and Women chess competition which will be held from February 2, 2017 to 8 February at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਕੁੱਲ ੨੦੦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ੮੦ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਨ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਵੱਧ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਸਕੇ। ਸਿਰਫ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੋਲੀ ਕੰਪੀਟੀਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਹਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲਿਆ।
