Eternal University, Baru Sahib and Akal University, Talwandi Sabo are the higher-education institutions built by the Baru Sahib mission — Eternal under The Kalgidhar Trust, Akal under The Kalgidhar Society — carrying value-based education from the classroom into research, professional training and community service.

The Baru Sahib mission built its rural school network first, then extended that same values-based approach into higher education. Eternal University, a women’s university in the Baru Valley of Himachal Pradesh, operates under The Kalgidhar Trust. Akal University, at Talwandi Sabo in Punjab, operates under The Kalgidhar Society. Together, the two universities let students who begin at an Akal Academy continue, under the same values, all the way to postgraduate and doctoral study.

Eternal University

A women’s university set in the Baru Valley, founded on the principle of Sanskar Nirman — character built alongside academics. Governed by The Kalgidhar Trust, Eternal University offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across agriculture, health and allied sciences, engineering, education, and management.

Akal University
Talwandi Sabo, District Bathinda, Punjab
Set up to fulfil Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s prophecy of “Guru Ki Kashi” at Talwandi Sabo. Governed by The Kalgidhar Society, Akal University is home to the International Center for Comparative Religious Studies, and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees alongside free coaching for national competitive exams.

Why the Society built two universities
“Modern scientific education alone will not serve humanity well, unless it is amalgamated with Braham Vidya — spiritual education.”
This conviction, first voiced by Sant Attar Singh Ji and carried forward by Sant Teja Singh Ji and Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, is the foundation of both universities. It began with a single school at Baru Sahib in 1986, grew into the Akal Academies network, and in 2008 reached its next stage when The Kalgidhar Trust founded Eternal University.
The Kalgidhar Society carried the mission further in 2015 with Akal University at Talwandi Sabo — the site the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, foretold would become a great centre of learning. Together, the Trust and the Society let a student’s education continue, under one set of values, from an Akal Academy classroom to a doctoral degree.
