Akal Academy has strong sporting tradition and students enjoy excellent sporting facilities. Interhouse Tennis Competitions were organized within the school program involving 145 students. Akal Academies are committed to a balanced education with a wide range of competitive and non-competitive sporting activities for every level of interest and ability.

Students are given the opportunity to go to CBSE clusters and all India tennis tournament ( AITA ) participation every year. Students were also given certificates, medals and trophies.

In addition to physical education classes as part of the curriculum, students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular sport. Every student is encouraged to participate in these events for her House to the best of her ability. Akal Academy Baru Sahib also encourages strong House spirit along with academic excellence. A Schools Tennis Competition Framework has been developed to provide simple, inclusive and progressive schools competition opportunities.

It provides players with regular team competition over a set time period. It offers players the chance to represent their school in competitive team tennis. It gives players a chance to be part of a team and enjoy the social element.

Qualified coaches are provided for training in lead up to the competitions.

Tennis coaching is also offered as an extra-curricular activity with classes run before school starts, during school breaks and after school.

Akal Academy Bhadaur organized Inter House English Debate competition on Dec 6, 2014 in the central corridor. It was conducted together by Atul house and English Department. The topics of the Debate were, Merits and Demerits of fast food, Life for us is better than as for our forefathers.

It was for the students of 8th and 9th classes. From each house 4 students participated.

There were two groups one is in favor and another one against the motion.

Students took active participation and kept forth their arguments very well. The judges gave positions according to performances. In the Overall result Ist position was bagged by Ajay & Amul house, 2nd by Abhay house and 3rd position was given to Atul house. The students took part enthusiastically in the debate.

Acknowledging that children are the best medium to apprise people, parents and family about traffic rules and regulations, the traffic police post, Gadwa Kheda under District Pilibhit Police administration, along with the students of Akal Academy Kajri organized “Safety on Roads” awareness programme in the school campus.

Mr. Satya Prakash Shukal , in charge Police Post Gadwa interacted with the children and gave them traffic safety tips. He asked the cyclist students to follow safety norms on the road by not cycling in shoulder to shoulder lines.

Students were given demo of major traffic signals used by traffic policemen in the busy crossroads. Later children’s queries regarding traffic rules and causes of traffic accidents were addressed by Mr. Shukla . He also told the children to remember helpline numbers of the police to report or inform about any emergency on the road.

According to the police department, the traffic educational programme will be undertaken in various city schools and colleges from the week of November and December to promote safe commuting of the people and motivate them to follow traffic rules for their safety and convenience. The Principal Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind teachers and staff were also present on the occasion. Mr. Satya Prakash expressed his thanks to the school administration.

It is truly considered that through participation in sports and different games, students learn co-operation, teamwork, leadership and time management.Games help students to discover their hidden talents, help them interact with different people and make them learn about many things outside their own environment.

To facilitate the spirit of sportsmanship, cooperation, mutual understanding of strength and stamina, Akal Academy Kajri organized and participated in Inter-Academy Sports Meet held on 29 November, 2014 in Akal Academy Kajri for Boys and Akal Academy Gomti for girls.

Students from both academies participated in full spirit and zeal. The students displaying their best sports skills, strengths and stamina endeavored to excel their peer competitors in a variety of athletics events.
The school teachers and staff too had moments of thrill and eagerness which impelled them to support their respective students for the best performance.

The Principal Mrs Simran Kaur Thind exhorted the students of the school to display their sports spirit and learn mutual understanding. Akal Academy Gomti teachers and hosting academy teachers had a wonderful time of team togetherness and sharing joy and victory together. The host principals of both academies expressed their gratitude to the school management, teachers and staff to make this event an unforgettable one.

Healthy Food gives rise to Healthy Mind. Keeping in consideration the thought of building a healthy generation, Healthy Tiffin Competition was organized by Akal Academy, Theh Kalandar. The competition was conducted to urge the upcoming generation to adopt a healthy lifestyle and prevent unhealthy food habits.

Diet is a particular pattern of eating and a balanced diet provides the correct amount of all nutrients without excess or deficiency to maintain health. There are many reasons why someone is interested in their diet, for example, to improve health, lose weight or increase performance. Healthy eating includes consuming high-quality proteins, carbohydrates, heart-healthy fats, vitamins, minerals, and water in the foods you take in while minimizing processed foods, saturated fats and alcohol. Eating in this manner helps you maintain your body’s everyday functions, promote optimal body weight and can assist in disease prevention.

On 29th of Nov’14 , Sports Meet for the Girls of Class VI-XII was organised in #AkalAcademy Gomtipul in full sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Students were highly excited as it was the most awaited day for them. In this meet, the competition was between Akal Academy Kajri and Akal Academy Gomtipul. Participants of both the academies practiced hard to make this event successful.

Students from class VI-XII participated in this meet. It is well said“Success is the result of daily little Efforts” and participants went under various practice sessions and trials.

The meet started at 9:00 am and ended at 2:45 Pm. At the outset of the meet students paid homage to the almighty by singing Shabad.

Mr.Ashok Kumar was warmly welcomed as the guest of honor by the students and school faculty . The competition started with the first track event which was 1500 m race followed by long jump , shotput and discus throw of various classes.

All the participants performed with zeal and high spirits. After the long tiring races, the audience witnessed 400m, 200m and 100m races along with the various field events-high jump and triple jump. It was tough competition, but Akal Academy Gomtipul managed to lead with 28 points.

Langar was organized by the management for the teachers and the participants. After the lunch break , there was a series of 4×100 m relay races for class VI, VII, VIII, U-16 and the last event was 4 x100 m relay race for Under 19 girls.

At the end of the track and field events results were declared by Mr.Ashok Kumar. Akal Academy Gomtipul scored 270 points and Akal Academy Kajri score 213 points. On the other hand, boys of Akal Academy Gomtipul scored 224 points and Akal Academy Kajri scored 254 points. Boys of Akal Academy Gomtipul bagged 28 gold medals and girls of Akal Academy Gomtipul bagged 39 gold medals. Overall scores of Akal Academy Gomtipul and Akal Academy Kajri were 494 and 467 respectively on the basis of overall scores. Overall Champion of the sports meet is Akal Academy Gomtipul with the lead of 27 points. Performance of girls and boys was remarkable. Individual Championship goes only to A.A.Gomtipul’s following students:

Akal Academy Gomtipul won the competition by taking the lead of 57 points. In the nutshell our respected principal madam closed the ceremony with vote of thanks.

Sports Day was Celebrated by Akal Academy Majri, involving Students in Extracurricular activities apart from Academics. Sports Day is an important event in the life of every school. Sports themselves have a vital role in making a child sound physically as well as mentally.

The sports day began with a welcome speech by the Principal. Various Races along with entertaining activities engaged the attention of the spectators. A day when students are freed from classroom to jump and run around, freed from the satire of learning.

Parents attended the event with enthusiasm and were delighted to watch their kids perform. They were cheering for their kids. Students performed in full charge with their high competitive spirits. Lastly students presented the vote of thanks and appreciation. The students showcased their multifaceted talents. It was a mega event and it culminated by the award ceremony where students were awarded trophies & medals by the chief guest.

The importance of competitiveness on the sports gave the kids who weren’t too bright the chance of winning in another arena and is good for the self-esteem and building confidence for those children whose skills lie outside algebra and the parsing of verbs.

Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was celebrated on 24th November. The programme started with Nitnem. Teachers and students of different classes participated in Shabad Recitation, poems, speeches. The emotional sentiments reflected in their devotion with which they participated.

After completion of the programme, students watched movie on Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji on Digital Boards.Such initiatives taken by Akal Academies makes the students well aware of the Sikh History and the sacrifices of our Great Guru. The students are brought up in this spiritual atmosphere inculcated with religious sentiments and faith.

All the students were filled up with deep sorrow, remembering to the great sacrifice done by our Ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Akal Academy Akal Academy, Theh Kalandar. under the aegis of The Kalgidhar Trust, Baru sahib organized a tree plantation drive. The programme was aimed to aware children and community about the need for safeguarding the mother earth from major environmental crisis. Students from different classes contributed their bit to the social cause.

Students brought approximately 200 plants including a variety of shady plants, fruit trees and flower plants. These were planted in the surrounding areas of the lawn of the school by the students & teachers.

‘Environment Degradation’ is emerging as an international challenge before all communities of the world and we must plant more trees to save earth’s fragile ecosystem!

Humanity’s great ambassador, patron of selfless service towards others and the founder of Sikh-Faith, Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Utsav observed Grand celebrations at Akal Academy Dadehar Sahib. Like every year, the entire team, including students, teachers & other staff members came together in great spirits to celebrate this pious occasion. Students gave their entire body and soul in dedication to the sewa of Sadh Sangat.

The Gurdwara Sahib was decorated beautifully with the Prakash of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Sangat in a large number came to be a part of this celebration. This was followed by Ardaas and Guru Ka Langar with hundreds of residents of surrounding villages participating in this historic occasion.The blissful atmosphere was brightened with the enlightened souls.
