For nearly as long as one can remember, the routine of independence Day Celebrations has remained the same, Flag hoisting, national anthem, parade, speeches, and cultural programmes in varying order. But Besides this essential routine, Akal Academy Kajri celebrated 68th Independence Day- 2014 with lot of exciting activities and patriotic tint.

The celebration started with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal and staff amid the patriotically enthralled students. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem and thunderously raised slogans, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.

The Principal Mrs Simran Kaur Thind in her message asked the students to get away from social evils and work hard to become perfect human beings. She told the children to follow the path of truth, honesty, and hard work to make India stronger. Mr. Ashok Singh Guleria motivated the students to follow the principle of ‘Self Governance’, ‘Self’ Discipline’ and ‘Self Responsibility” to become ideal citizens of tomorrow that India really needs. Mr. Vijaypal Singh too spoke on the occasion. On behalf of the students Tanupriya and Abhijot Kaur addressed the audience. Yashi Mishra and Jashandeep Kaur read a poem on Jhansi ki Rani .

A unique and wonderful feature of the programme was conducting of Inter House competitions organized by different departments. Social Science dept organized Indian Heritage Quiz Show for class VIII and IX. Divinity and Music Dept. Organized – Poetry Compilation and Recitation competition for class VI-VII. Sports activities such as Kho – kho for girls, Volleyball for boys were also held. Last of all, Tug of war between senior boys of Class X to XII stole the show. The programme concluded with thanks giving speech by the Principal followed by sweet distribution.

Students of Akal Academy Bhadaur celebrate 68th Independence Day!

15th August, 2014 the 68th Independence Day was celebrated with great pump and show by the students and staff of Akal Academy Bhadaur in central corridor in the school premises. It was conducted by the students of XII class along with Atul house holding the incharge ship. Principal Madam Ms. Gurdeep Kaur along with Vice-principal & coordinators hoisted the National Flag.

The National Anthem was then sung with great vigor by the students and teachers. All of them were dressed in white attires keeping in view the sanctity and regard for the National flag.

The function started with Shabad recitation by students of class X. K.G & 1st class students presented beautiful poems on patriotism. Folding their hands, they paid tribute to their nation. Their saffron colored turbans added color to the celebrations.

Class 2nd students holding the national flag in their hands sung a beautiful patriotic song which was followed by a skit depicting the sacrifices done by Indians to achieve independence.

English & Punjabi speeches were delivered by the VIII and IX class students. Three choreographies were represented by the students of IV, VII, VIII & IX classes. VI class girls represented Kawishri-“Kalgidhar di Vaar”.

At last Principal Madam delivered a speech on this occasion explaining the students the importance of celebrating this day.

On this eventful day the students were awarded certificates and prizes for their achievements in academics and sports. The event ended with reciting the National Anthem.

The programme was very well organized and all the students actively participated in this programme. Such programmes inculcate in students the feeling of being proud to be Indian and in the wake of bringing students at par with the students of city schools, such events boost the morale of these little wonders…

An Exclusive Report on – Creativity Development Activity organized by Akal Academy Bhadaur!

On Saturday 9th August, 2014 Akal Academy Bhadaur organized an “Inter House Heritage Bonanza Competition” for the students of 6th to 10th classes. It was conducted by Amul house and Social Science Department in the central corridor of the school. Competition was based on Model Making activity.

Two students from each class and each house participated in the competition. Different topics were assigned to the student participants according to their classes where the participants were supposed to make models on the topics given.

For class 6th the topic was Solar system while for class 7th it was Volcanoes. Class 8th faced the challenge of model making on Scrap on Natural Vegetation and wild life whereas 9th class participants were busy with Chart Making on Hitler. Rain Water Harvesting was the topic for 10th class student participants.

It was a spectacular vision to watch future generation at work with such concentration and enthusiasm. Their zest and zeal was worth praising! Beautiful models were made by these tiny creators. Their imaginations and the ideas of representation were amazing.

At last the student participants were asked questions based on their Models. Participants were well versed in that also. They knew each and every detail of the subject and answered all the questions with confidence.
Such activities organized across Akal Academies are one of the progressive steps taken towards the all round development of the students and are the need of today to make India one of the topmost developed country in the world!

A mock fire and evacuation drill involving students and fire fighters was conducted by Akal Academy Kajri to create awareness among the student community of fire fighting techniques and the ways to respond swiftly in times of such emergency situation.

Prior to the commencement of the exercise, the students and teachers were split into various teams including fire alarm, search and rescue, evacuation, site safety, transportation and media management teams to carry out the mock drill.

A group of fire fighters comprising of students led by Disaster Management head, Mr. Harpal Singh, armed with necessary paraphernalia required for fire fighting and rescue operations positioned themselves at vantage points to guide and assist the students in the mock fire and evacuation drill.

The “evacuation” operation began moments after the fire alarm team alerted the students about “fire” in the building. The students were immediately evacuated from their classrooms and asked to gather at the assembly area. Using the fire extinguishers, fire was immediately put out.

Later Mr. Ashok Singh Guleria explained and demonstrated different improvised methods needed to rescue and evacuate people caught in such emergency situations besides explaining the ways to operate the fire extinguishers safely.
Principal, Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind lauded the efforts of teachers and students who carried out this informative and well planned exercise. Mrs. Kulwinder Kaur, Mrs. Kanak Tripathi, Mr Phillip Xavier too contributed to conduct this group activity.

Faith can move mountains! This quotation has been rightly proved by the super girls of Akal Academy – Cheema Sahib who have proved them against all odds by bagging the first position in the interzonal football match held in the academy premises. The matches were organized by Punjab School Education Board Mauhali at Sunaam , Sangrur under 14 and under 17 categories.

The event was an eye pleasing experience to see little girls showing their power and might and winning the match. Principal Ms. Beant Kaur while addressing the winners and appreciating them said that “under 14 and under 17 football girls players have shown a marvelous/magnificent performance and won the 1st position.”

The team bagged a lot of appreciations and good words for expliciting the wonderful team spirit and winning the matches. Coach Arvinder Kumar , Balvir Singh and other staff members were also present on this occasion.

Little wonders of Akal Academy, Cheema Sahib recently participated in a tree plantation drive to celebrate Tee Plantation Day organised by Ajit Greenary Drive.

On the occasion students of Akal Academy presented a beautiful skit depicting the love for nature, birds and environment. S.Sukhdev Singh Virk, DSP – Sunaam performed the tree plantation ceremony in the ground of Akal Academy. 100 plants were planted by the students and the staff of the academy.

S.Sukhdev Singh Virk addressed the students and explained them how one tree planted by them can bring in a sea change in the environment. He said that it is the moral duty of every citizen to keep the environment clean and make it pollution free by planting green and shady trees.

Ajit Greenary Drive has been started by Dr. Baljinder singh Hamdard – Chief Editor of Ajit Group. Principal Baljeet Kaur, Principal Beanat Kaur(Punjabi medium)also graced the occasion where Principal Baljeet Kaur thanked the chief guest and all other personalities.

Babu Nanak Chand Kalra Memorial Trust and Sant Baba Ishar Singh Club also performed tree plantation ceremony in Sangrur . A number of dignitaries were present on this occasion.

In the cremation ground of Kishanpura Sangrur tree plantation ceremony was performed by Shri Mohan Sharma, Shri Palamal Singla, S.A.P.Singh, Shri Jeetpal Mittal and Bhola Singh under Ajit Greenary Drive. Shri Sharma said Ajit Greenary Drive is a very pious and productive step for the development of the Nation being green and the world being a happy place ever again!
