Indian hockey is slowly but steadily looking forward to a brighter future. The junior national team powered by Simranjeet Singh and Gurjant Singh and team India buddies asserted the fact once again as they defeated Belgium 2-1 in the Junior Hockey World Cup Final in Lucknow on Sunday breaking and ending 15 years long wait.It goes to Gurjant Singh (8th minute) and Simranjeet Singh (22nd minute) who were the scorers for India against their European rivals. After Germany, India turns only the second team to win the Junior Hockey World Cup more than once. After completing win cheers Simranjeet Singh reached Akal Aademy Gomti to share his teams winning experiences with the budding sports stars and near dears who accompanied him to welcome in his home land. Reaching the Academy Simranjeet Singh got warm and cheerful welcome by the school Management, Principal, Staff and school children. In his interaction with the assemblage of Akal Students Simranjeet Singh shared his hard struggle to reach success. Sports coach,Mr. Rehan Raza Khan introduced the sports stars of the school. Sewadar S Balbir Singh Ji of Gurudwara Damdama Sahib presented saropa to Simranjeet and wished for his success. The Principal Ashok Singh Guleria congratulated him and asked the children to look to Simranjeet and Gurjant Singh for inspiration to achieve success not for self but for the nation too. Teachers of the Academy Mrs. Hemlata, Mr. Hardeep Singh, Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Mrs. Sharanjit Kaur, Ms. Nidhi, Mr. Shaurya and Mr. Nichaya Singh too greeted this rising sports star.
