Have the courage to follow your heart and dreams. They somehow know what you want to become’ – STEVE JOBS

Belonging to a small family of farmer, Sukhdev Singh had big dreams and aspirations. This is a tale of one of the oldest stars of Akal Academy, Baru Sahib who lived in the village of Tehsil Powayan, U.P.

His first step in the world of Education begun in ‘Shishu Mandir’ a small Hindi medium school in the rural area. After completing his schooling till Vth Grade, he was admitted to Akal Academy, Baru Sahib. The five year campaign at Baru Sahib was way beyond his expectations. The valley of divine peace wrapped in the arms of Nature was a completely different world as compared to the Noisy City Life.

He had passed out his 10th grade from Baru Sahib in 1993. He went to Khalsa College, Punjab to pursue his 11th and 12th. He had vivid interest in the medical stream and always wanted to become a doctor.

Serving humanity gradually became his passion during his stay in the divine valley. Sukhdev pursued his B.Sc from Lucknow University. In the fourth year of his B.Sc he was selected as a M.B.B.S.

In 2008, after completing his M.B.B.S. he was posted as a Medical officer in the U.P Government. But almighty had other future plans designed for him.

The divine vibes & his love for the institution which made him stand on his feet brought him back. He was appointed as a Medical Officer at Baru Sahib.

After serving for 2 yrs at Baru Sahib, he was posted as a Senior Medical officer in the U.P Govt.

He humbly explains his success in words of Gratitude “It’s just an extraordinary feeling of happiness. I loved being at Baru Sahib and that same love brought me back there Recalling the old memories of Baba Iqbal Singh ji makes me nostalgic at times. He loves me so much. And for sure, the students there can never suffer from depression. Great saints have blessed people known as global citizens. Thank you Baru Sahib.”
