Bringing Grace to Human Race

Founded in 1956, The Kalgidhar Trust & The Kalgidhar Society – Baru Sahib has grown into a reputed NGO in India, working tirelessly to transform the lives of rural children through Value-Based Education. Its Akal Academies are today counted among the best rural education schools in India, bringing quality learning to far-flung villages across North India. With the firm belief that everyone deserves to lead a life of dignity, each of its initiatives is rooted in the core thought of Bringing Grace to the Human Race.

The Kalgidhar Trust/Society initiated its work to bring back the glory of Punjab which is free of drug and alcohol abuse through the tool of education rooted in values. In its quest of fighting drugs with books, the Trust/Society has established 130 low-cost CBSE schools and 2 universities. The Kalgidhar Trust/Society under its flagship Akal Academies program, is providing modern, value-based education to nearly 75,000 students across rural areas of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Extending a helping hand to all those in need and giving them an opportunity to lead a decent life, The Kalgidhar Trust/Society has established teacher training centers, a multi-specialty hospital, drug de-addiction centers, an orphanage, one old age home, and a Center for Distressed Women.
