Shaheedi Diwas of Vade Sahibzades was observed with solemn devotion and spiritual fervour by the Students and Staff of Akal Academy,Gomti on 22 December 2016 at 11a.m to 12.30 p.m under the direction of Divinity Deparment of the Academy. Led by S. Surinderpal Singh (HOD Punjabi / Divinity) and S. Harpreet Singh, Punjabi Teachers and staff assembled in the school campus to remember and know the history of supreme sacrifice by the valiant saints of Sikh clan. Programme started with recitation of Shri Japji Sahib and Chaupai Sahib ji by all the students of Class I to Class XII.

After Shabad recitation “Suraj Kiran Mile Jal Ka Jal Hua Ram” was recited by Navreet Kaur with other students. S.Harpreet Singh briefly explained about the sacrifice of Elder Sons of Guru Gobind ji at Chamkaur Sahib in a very impressive and emotional tone. He also explained about the circumstances under which great sahibzades braved enemies and bad weather condition together at that time when Guruji and all Sikhs leave Shri Anandpur Sahib on promise of Pahari Kings and Emperor of Delhi and told about the need of the sacrifice given by the Sikhs at that time. Many brave Sikh embraced Shaheedi during fight with a large Army of Pahari Kings and Emperor of Delhi. Many Sikhs were martyred while crossing the Sirsa River at the time of night. Mata Gujri ji and younger Sons of Guru ji were gone to another side and Guru ji, younger Sons and Panj Piyare gone to Chamkaur Sahib.

S.Harpeet Singh also told to the Students to remember the Saheedi of our great warrior Sikhs. The Program ended with the Ardas and all Students moved back to their Classes with memorizing everlasting memory of Baba Ajit Singh ji and Baba Jujhar Singh ji. Sangat of the Gurudwara Sahib ji too joined the children to make this day memorable.
