‘Jee Ayaa Nu’ to everyone, I am Harman Singh Brar from Muktsar, an alumnus of Akal Academy Muktsar, from where I did my entire schooling – Batch 2007. Post my schooling; I decided to go to Baru Sahib to pursue my B.Tech from Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib’s Eternal University’s Akal College of Engineering and Technology (ACET).

At present I am almost done my M.Tech from Guru Nanak Dev Eng. College, Ludhiana and with the grace of almighty and blessings of Baru Sahib I have already gotten a confirmed job offer from the Infosys.

I belong to a typical middle class family where my father was the only earning member of the family, but unfortunately he passed away in year 2009; life would’ve been very tough to handle had I not been nurtured and fostered the way Akal Academy, Baru Sahib did, they provided me a strong edifice – both academically and spiritually which turned me into an emotionally strong and confident individual.

Thankfully, we didn’t face much of a hard time, my family was bold and relatives were really supportive by the grace of god; my sister is now married and younger brother is pursuing his Bachelors in Veterinary Sciences after completing his schooling from Akal Academy Muktsar only.

Being at Baru Sahib, staying in regular touch with Baba Iqbal Singh and in company of serene people there, I and my family were deeply inspired, my relatives were also send their kids to Akal Academies and Baru Sahib, especially due to the unique blend of spiritual and scientific education they are imparting and the human values they are imbibing into students; they educated me about our Dastar; about our Heritage and motivated us to be good human beings.

I wish to pay special regards to my school teachers, who also doubled as my mentors – Jagvinder Kaur Ma’am, my primary class teacher; Principal Sukhraj Kaur, who always inspired and motivated us to do even better; Mr. Baldev Singh, our physics teacher. I cherish memories of competing in almost every science quiz, science exhibitions and also my favorite game chess, which I have played till the district level.

Presently, I am very curious and excited to make a move to Infosys and step into an entirely new phase of life – working. For other students and children, I would like to convey that though it appears slightly difficult to follow disciplined regime of the schools, but once you are shaped into it, your performance and success boosts manifolds, hence never hesitate to follow the advice and instructions of your teachers.

For parents, I would like to say that it’s not always necessary to favor child’s opinion, especially when it comes to their schooling and career; be wise to take a call on what is best for them based on your own experience and findings because many a times the children may not be the best judge for themselves, they may not be position to take the right decisions for themselves; love them, care for them, but do not leave them own their own discretion. Last, but not the least – do send your kids to schools like Akal Academies.

My Wishes and Regards to Baru Sahib.

Gur-Fateh.

Love

– Harmandeep Singh Brar
