The Aagman Diwas of Guru Nanak Dev ji was marked at a time when the society was divided into narrow fragments of color, caste, creed and religion. People were suffering badly. Guru Sahib provided them solace and spread the message of peace and universal brotherhood. Akal Academy Gomti celebrated this holy day with enthusiasm and gaiety in the school campus. Every effort was made to make this function a memorable one.
A total of 11 Sahej Paths were done and the bhog ceremony of these paths took place in Darbar Sahib on December 3, 2015. Akhand Path Sahib Started on 01st December inside school premises. Bhog ceremony was performed in Academy’s premises.
At this occasion the Gurdwara Sahib was beautifully decorated. The eye-catching decorations in the Pandal by students was appreciated by sangat.
Holy Shlokas were chanted and hymns were read out from Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The Programme started with recitation of Shabad “Aisi Preet baso man mere” through this shabad the children prayed the almighty to give them strength so that they can recite his name uninterrupted. Gurkarm Singh of Nursery Section recited the names of five pyaras. “Aaj Guru ka Langar Hai” another beautiful shabad recited by L.K.G. students.
All the devotees gathered in the pandaal were mesmerized by the melodious voices of the students. Class I student Rupinder Kaur sang the song “Takia main Babar De Darbar”. Jasmeet, student of Grade I highlighted in detail about the five Takhats and their historical importance.
“Kalu the Dulara, Tripta the Laal” was the next shabad recited by class II student Pratap Singh and other. Gursimran Kaur of Class IV delivered an English Speech and threw light on the life history of Guruji. “Dhan Nanak Teri Baddi Kamai” a shabad recited by Palakdeep Kaur “Kal Taran Guru Nanak Aaya” was the shabad recited by class VIII students.
Through this shabad they told how Guruji ameliorated the lives of those who were deprived and downtrodden.
The Kavishri was sung so beautifully that it held the spectators spell bound.
The parents were highly impressed by the well-planned programme in a disciplined manner. The services rendered by students in every sphere especially the service in Langar and the “Jora Ghar” where the children performed sewa in a very pious manner.The children were divided in different teams and performed their duties in the best possible manner.
Guru Ka Langar was served to more than 2000 people. Kaka Veerji from Baru Sahib graced the occasion with his benign presence. Sewadar Veerji S. Jaswant Singh and Headmistress Mrs. Pawan Sahni thanked the sangat for visiting the institution and boosting up the morale of students and the teachers.
