Small Wonders of Akal Academy participate in the 5th Annual Sports Meet…

Akal Academy, Dhalan Kalan recently organized its 5th Annual Sports Meet where students competed amongst each other in teams and took the winning trophies away. The opening ceremony of the event started with releasing of balloons, the House Wise March Past and ‘Salami’ program where students alongwith Padam Bhushan Dr. Khem Singh Gill – Chairman Akal Academies and Principal – Ms. Harpreet Kaur Principal, Akal Acdemy, Dhanal Kalan greeted Chief Guest – Giani Gurbachan Singh – Jathedar Shri, Akal Takhat Sahib. After which the Sports Torch was lit with a Student Pledge ceremony where students pledged to play with honesty and true sportsman spirit!

After which, students displayed their true sportsman spirit Sports Events like Flat Race (60 mtrs) , Shot Put, Lemon and Spoon Race, Relay Race and Obstacle Race. A friendly Kabbadi Show Match was also conducted to keep the spirit ignited.

Parents were not left behind for there were events planned for them as well. With the game of musical chairs for the mothers and flat race for the fathers, the campus was buzzing with fun and enthusiasm.

The event also saw a cultural program presented by the students sending across the message to save and protect the girl child through a choreography which was appreciated by everyone. Students of class II to IX showcased “Gatka’ which is the symbol of a Gursikh’s grace and strength. The audience was completely enthralled and awestruck by their performances.

The winning teams were awarded with medals & certificates. Ajay House won the Overall Trophy and Abhay House won the Trophy for Best March.

While addressing the audience, Giani Gurbachan Singh encouraged the students to take keen interest in playing games which will ultimately help them to avoid various evils of drugs prevailing in our society. He appreciated the efforts undertaken by the Akal Academies running under the guidance of respected Baba Iqbal Singh Ji.

S. R.S Mehta – Regional Director of Akal Academies, Dr Guatam Singh Sikand, S. Ujjagar Singh, S. Santokh Singh – Delhi Paint, S. Davinder Singh Ananad, S. Amarjit Singh Anand, Dr. G.P Singh and Dr. Simardeep Singh were other distinguished guests present on this occasion.

Divinity Teacher at the Academy, S. Manjeet Singh, congratulated everybody for displaying such a wonderful show and thanked all the guests for encouraging the students by their presence.
