The purported support of the movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ has been erroneously placed on website and Facebook page of The Kalgidhar Trust and The Kalgidhar Society Baru Sahib and we express our deep regrets. We had presumed that it was an animation movie and none of the role of Shree Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj and other revered characters is being played by any human being. As soon as it came to our notice we have deleted the same.

We don’t agree with any human being playing the role of Shree Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaja or any other revered Sikh Gurus. This is against the accepted Sikh tenets and philosophy and should be condemned.

We are with Sikh Panth and Akal Takht Sahib and whatever decision they take against the movie we are wholly with them.​

“It’s a force so great, so noble…It can strike a magical thunder of healing upon the patient’s heart even before & more effectively after the surgeries, especially in critical cases”, told a psychology expert, who was also present during the medical camp to observe a case.

He also explained that donating for someone’s health & treatment is the simplest yet most effective of all gestures because it is this great gesture of “Love & Compassion towards humanity” that actually acts as a natural magical force that helps and supports the psychology of the patient the most, with a sense of care& support that sets his psychology carefree.

This in turn, plays the most important part in the healing process that may begin or get triggered well before the actual medical treatment has started.

Dr. Davinder Singh, Principal of Akal Academies (runby Kalgidhar Trust), from Baru Sahib, reveals, “We are located in a very remote part of Uttar Pradesh, where medical services are practically non-existent, our hospital, Akal Charitable hospital, is providing mainly the medical services; around 4 times a year we organize Free Medical Camps, we advertise well all over the place & people from as far as 300 kms travel here, undergo surgeries & get their smiles back.”

The Kalgidhar Trust has carried forward the mission of imparting value-based education in rural areas of North India and other human welfare activities.

On 29th March, The Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib organised Free Medical/Operation camp at Cheema Sahib. In this free operation camp about 45 patients were chosen for the operation and are shifted from Cheema Sahib to the Akal Charitable Hospital Baru Sahib and were flagged off by five students of Akal Academy Cheema Sahib.

After this the Principal Baljeet Kaur said that under the supervision of Baba Iqbal Singh Baru Sahib, many human welfare programs and activities are organized, in which Akal Academy Charitable hospital organised many medical and operation Camps, and thousands of patients have been examined. She said that the people belong to rural areas and those who are not having good financial status have been benefitted in these medical camps at Baru Sahib.

She said that surgeries will be performed on 3rd an 4th April at Akal Charitable Hospital by the experts Doctors from Jalandhar, Delhi, Moga and Chandigarh free of cost and the hospital provided free of cost services to the patients, like consultation, medication, laboratory, X-Ray accommodation for the attendants of patients, She said in the year 2014, during free medical check-up/operation camp about 5500 patients were examined free of cost and about 400 surgeries were performed.

Under the supervision of Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, President of The Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib along with the education, many programs are organized in the service of mankind, during which ‘Free Operation Check Up Camp’ was organized at Akal Academy Cheema sahib on 29th March.

In this camp, team of Doctors from Sri Mukatsar Sahib, Dr. Ravjot Singh Bhullar M.S., General Surgery, Dr Harmandeep Kaur M.B.B.S., Dr. Gurpinder Singh Kaur B.D.S. examined the patients suffering from Stones in Kidney and gall bladders, Piles, Appendix, Dental, Gynecologist problems, ENT etc. About 300 patients were examined and free medicine distributed among the needy patients.

Dr. Ravjot Singh said that in this Camp about 50 patients are selected for the operation who will be operated on the 3rd and 4th April 2015 in Akal Charitable Hospital Baru Sahib. The operation will be performed by the team of Doctors from Jalandhar. The expenses for the medicines and operation will be given by Baru Sahib. The patients will be shifted to Baru Sahib for the operation today.

Cheema Sahib, 17 March-The annual Gurmat Samagam to commemorate Sant Attar Singh ji was held at Gurdwara Janamasthan, Cheema Sahib on the Sant Ji’s 149th Birth Anniversary. The 3-day program commenced with the start of 21 Shri Akhand Paaths of Shri Guru Granth Sahib at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, 40 at Akal Academy Cheema and 11 at Gurudwara Shri Nanaksar Sahib, after Ardas was performed by Baba Iqbal Singh Ji Baru Sahib wale. During the Gurmat Samagam program, Singh Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedaar Shri Akal Takhat Sahib said that Sant Attar Singh Ji was the first eminent Sikh religious leader to be affectionately accorded by the holy title of “Sant” by Shri Akal Takhat Sahib.

The Kalgidhar Trust played a vital in the progress of various programs of education and efforts were made to promote Sikhism and other welfare projects. After, Singh Sahib Giani Gurmukh Singh Jatheadar Takhat Shri Damdma Sahib, Singh Sahib Giani Iqbal Singh Jathedar Takhat Shri Patna Sahib, Giani Gurdev Singh England Wale, Dr. Khem Singh Gill, Ex. V.C, P.A.U Ludhiana, Sant Jagjeet Singh lopo wale preached the Sangat by their religious views.

Sant Manmohan Singh Lohatwaddi wale, Sant Bhupinder Singh Jarg wale, Sant Dharamveer Singh Gharagane wale rendered melodious Gurbani Shabad Kirtan. During Amrit Sanchar many people got initiated into Khalsa fold. Principals of 20 Akal Academies rendered melodic Gurbani Shabad Kirtan and the whole program was live telecasted on 16th March. All these Akhand Paaths were performed by selfless volunteers, which comprised local Cheema sangat, ladies from Delhi and Akal Academy.

On the occasion of 149th Birth Anniversary of Sant Attar Singh Ji Maharaj, the Sant Attar Singh Sports Club, Cheema Sahib organised the mass wedding program at Gurdwara Janamasthan Cheema Sahib, wherein 7 needy couples tied the nuptial knots by the way of Anand Karaj. The club provided all the basic things to all those married couples.

Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, President of The Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib blessed the couples and exhorted them to lead their lives according to the teachings of the Guru and regarded all the associates. On this occasion, President Darshan Singh & all the members of club were also present!

16 March 2015 ~ Cheema Sahib: On the 149th Birth anniversary of Sant Attar Singh Ji, Mastuane Wale, the Nagar Kirtan, taken out on the Birth Place, Cheema Sahib, under the patronage of Shri Guru Granth Sahib and led by Panj Piaras began from Gurudwara Shri Nanaksar Sahib.

Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, President of Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib performed Ardas to seek Akal Purakh’s blessings for the start and successful completion of the Nagar Kirtan. On this event Singh Sahib Giani Balwant Singh Nanadgarh Ex. Jathedar Takhat Shri Damdama Sahib, Sant Baba Chhota Singh Bunga Mastuana, Dr. Khem Singh Gill Ex. Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agriculture University, Giani Gurdev Singh, England Wale and Baba Sadhu Singh, Chhahad wale were present.

An Army band with Gursikh soldiers and army band of students of Akal teacher training centre, Cheema Sahib made their presence felt with lyrical tunes. Students of Akal academies and students of Akal Gurmat Vidyalya performed Sikh Martial Arts (Gatka).

All along the route, several societies, social and religious personalities and other prominent persons welcomed the Saadh Sangat and also presented Siropaos. Stalls of several types of Guru Ka Langar were arranged at several places all along the route.

An initiative taken by Dr. S.P.S Oberoi, M.D, The Sarbatt Da Bhala Trust (Reg.), a massive 54th Free Eye Check Up/ operation Camp was organized on the Birth anniversary of Sant Attar Singh Ii Mastuane wale in Akal Academy Cheema Sahib.

During the camp, the honorable chief guest S. Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, praised the joint massive efforts of the Sarbatt Da Bhala Trust and Kalgidhar Trust Baru Sahib. In this check up camp in over 400 patients were examined by the Dr. Parmjit Singh.

All the participants underwent eye check up, were advised on their concerns and were also given spectacles & Medicine to the needy people. Prof. Jaspal Singh District President of Sarbatt Da Bhala Trust, announced that the patients will be operated on 15th and 16th March 2015 in Sangrur.
