Shri Kaul Singh Thakur, Health, Revenue & Law Minister, Himachal Pradesh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest who showered blessings and expressed happiness for way the college has showcased the talent of the students. The beginning of the auspicious occasion was marked by the invocation of the heavenly muses in the Shabad by Students of Akal College of Nursing and Divine Music.
The Annual Day Celebrations began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Shri. Kaul Singh Thakur, Health, Revenue & Law Minister, Himachal Pradesh, Shri. Gangu Ram Musafir, MLA of Pachhad, Dr.Jaishree Sharma, Director, Directorate of Medical Education & Research, Mrs. Kaushlya Choudhary, Registrar, HPNRC, Dr.H.S.Dhaliwal,Vice Chancellor, Eternal University, Dr. Davinder Singh, Secretary, Kalgidhar Trust, Dr. H.S.Dhaliwal, Vice Chancellor, Eternal University, Dr Neelam Kaur, Dean Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences and Mrs. Ranjit Kaur, Principal, Akal College of Nursing.
Dr. H. S. Dhaliwal, Vice Chancellor, Eternal University opened the Annual Day Celebrations. Dr. Davinder Singh, Secretary, Kalgidhar Trust delivered welcome address in honor of chief guest, guest of honor and special guest.
Dr Neelam Kaur, Dean Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences invited the chief guest on stage to brief of Akal College of Nursing, Eternal University.
The Chief Guest in his address to the gathering appreciated the management, staff and the students of the college for their contribution on the nursing service which are very vital for the development of remote, hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh to promote the health and education.
Dr. H. S. Dhaliwal, Vice Chancellor, Eternal University presented the memento to chief guest. Mrs. Ranjit Kaur, Principal, Akal College of Nursing opened the cultural events. The cultural presentation of the traditional himachali folk dance, choreography and mime by Akal College of Nursing Students which was lauded by one and all and the dance highlighting the woman as an embodiment of love, power and warmth regaled one and all.
The exhibition were organized by the students under the guidance of faculty which included poster presentation of research projects, therapeutic diet and the working models on various nursing subjects like anatomy, pediatric nursing, medical and surgical nursing, community health nursing etc.
The Principal, Mrs. Ranjit Kour presented the Annual Report highlighting the achievements of the college and goals set up for the future. The oath taking ceremony was undertaken by the students of 1st year BSc. Nursing. Students took the International Nurses Pledge administered by Prof. Sujana Chakravarty. By taking oath and nursing pledge, students were formally inducted into the noble profession of nursing where they would carry on their duties with compassion, empathy, love and devotion.
Dr.Jaishree Sharma, Director, Directorate of Medical Education & Research threw light on Professional ethics for emerging Nursing students and Mrs. Kaushlya Choudhary, Registrar, HPNRC delivered a brief note on Nursing as Profession.
