I am Jagbir Singh Brar, an Alumnus of Akal Academy Muktsar, a rural simpleton from village Mahabadar born in a middle class agrarian family of Jatt Sikhs. I completed my entire schooling from the Academy in the year 2007, post which I pursued my B.Tech from Saheed Udham Singh (SUS) Group of Institutions, Mohali , after which I pursued M.Sc in Food Technology from Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Throughout the course of my life so far, the grace of Almighty and the blessings of Baba Iqbal Singh ji of Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib have accompanied me at every step of my life. Beginning from the days of my schooling, with grace of ‘Waheguru’, I was fortunate that my family decided to send me to Akal Academy at Muktsar.

I feel indebted to the Academy for giving me everything I am today; the Academy transformed me from a Rural boy, who would accompany his father to his fields, into an educated individual who is now all inspired & enabled to take on his PHD in Food Science & Technology; they made me able enough to have received a Job offer from a prestigious company like Cadbury (Baddi) for the role of Quality Assurance.

In my life so far, I have had the chance of staying at Delhi and Chandigarh during my academic years, and clearly I have seen the difference – there is no absolutely no parallel to the way Akal Academy is providing us education, at least not in Delhi and or the Chandigarh city, I can say with certainty. The way Akal Academy is connecting us with Spirituality alongside providing us rurals with values-based quality education, no one else can do that and that’s because there is no other person like Baba Iqbal Singh Ji. There is no one who can have such vision of bringing a transformation for betterment of humanity & establishing permanent world peace.

From the school, I have special memories about my teachers; amongst my favorites were Jayasiman Sir -our Maths teacher, Jagwinderpal Kaur – our primary class teacher, who gave us the best foundation a child can have, she taught us a lot of things during our childhood. On the spiritual front, it was Kulvinder Ma’am during the higher secondary days, she kept me involved with the arrangement of ‘Akhand Paaths’ which I absolutely loved and enjoyed.

About the society, especially in the villages of north India, I feel there is a lot of disconnect with regards to religion, for most of the people are spiritually blind or are following other fake human Gurus, which they shouldn’t. We should only & only believe in God Almighty and not lose faith in him even in the tough times – I really wish to promote Sikhism whenever I get the opportunity in my life for that reason.

To the rural parents, I would like to convey that Akal Academies are the best secured place for their children in the prevalent dangerous times where drug & alcohol abuse is taking a toll on the youth like never before. Not only they will be secured & cocooned but they will also be connected to religion through our heritage & culture, which is conducive to building a noble human character. My best regards to all the members connected of the Akal Academies & Baru Sahib.

Gur-Fateh!
