The Akal Academy located at village Uddat Saidewala organized a Grand Feast to observe celebrations on the pious occasion of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab.

The great event saw ‘Bhog’ of Sri Akhand Path at the beginning of the day around 10:30 am followed by Ardas; post Ardas, House wise Shabad Kirtan competition was observed, followed by some electrifying Punjabi & English Speech Competitions, where students of the Academy, divided into 4 inter-houses i.e. Amul, Atul, Ajay & Abhay houses, addressed the holy congregation with some impressive speeches related to Guru Sahib.

Later during the day, Kavitri & Poems were narrated by the young students; the students were also seen competing during some exciting competitions of ‘Dastar Tying Competition’, ‘Divinity-Quiz’ and ‘Dhadiwar performance’. The special attraction during the event were the kindergarten religious poems – that were performed by little young wonders of the Akal Academy & also the ‘Punjabi Skit & Choreography’ based on the theme of Drug addiction called “ Jaisi Sangant Vaisi Rangaat” in which, the students conveyed the message of maintaining good health & pure environment whilst promoting alcohol & drug de-addiction amongst the audience.

Also during the play, students also encouraged the audience to spread awareness about the importance of schooling whilst encouraging and motivating them to promote education for Rural children of the village and areas in vicinity.

Amongst the Special Guests during the occasion, Sukhdev Singh Ji – Jathedar delivered a speech on spiritualism and role of Akal Academies and Universities; he also shared his views for honorable Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, who has recently been ranked as the 5th most powerful Non Political Sikh in the world whilst lauding the work done by the Kalgidhar Trust.

Throughout the event, prizes and certificates were distributed to the winning performers on regular intervals by the guests, as winners were being announced after rounds of performances.
Headmistress Gurjeet Kaur, familiarized the audience and the specials guests with the Education System being followed, facilities being provided and teaching methods while also elaborating upon the unique spiritual and scientific education that is the core foundation of the organization.

All in all, the event observed great holy congregation where everyone enjoyed and lauded the performances of the students during various programs that kept everyone pinned to their seats. The Sangat comprised of all staff members, around 650 well wishers of the academy were invited including around 590 of the parents of the students and several localities; Langar arrangements for over 800 gathering was prepared, which everyone savored with grace of Almighty.
