Akal Academy Bhadaur conducted an Inter-House sports activity. It was organized by Sports department which included 3 events; Tag of War (Nur to V), Badminton Tournament for Girls of VI to VIII grade and a Volleyball tournament for the Boys of IX to XII grade.

It was heartening to watch students perform in full of Vigor and enthusiasm showcasing their talent. A total of 316 students participated in it. The event was scheduled from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.

All drew hearty applause from their fellow teammates, a fitting appreciation for weeks of hard work. As the students’ wild cheers rent the air, the players, with grit and determination, performed to achieve victory and glory for their respective houses.

Principal Ms. Gurdeep Kaur took around for supervision. She encouraged the students to perform their best.

The result were as follows

Atul House emerged as the winner of the Tug of War & Badminton Championship while Ajay House clinched the first position for the Volleyball Match.

Apart from commemorating victories, such activities are aimed at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and camaraderie to children.

The day ended with a cheerful note, filled with promises for all the young sports enthusiasts.

An International writing and declamation competition was conducted in Akal Academy Bilga in the month of April this year by Kesh Sambhal Parchar Sanstha New Delhi. 25 students from Akal Academy Bilga participated in it. At a National level approx 550 students participated in it.

Student of Akal Academy Bilga Kawalpreet Kaur, XII Grade bagged the second position in it.

She was also invited to participate in declamation at Guru Nanak Public School Rajouri Garden, Delhi. In this competition Kawalpreet Kaur was honoured with a shield, certificates, a set of books along with a cash prize of Rs 2500/-.

Inter House Athletic Meet was conducted at Akal Academy, Chugawan built in the memory of S. Chambail Singh. The meet began with an impressive inaugural ceremony.

The events included 100m, 200m, 400m, hurdle, relay, long jump, high jump, short put and some fun races for K.G. students was also organized.

The events followed the preplanned sequence amidst the excited and cheering spectators. Among the four houses, Amul house emerged as a winner. All the students participated with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Speaking on the occasion & appreciating the efforts put in, the Principal spoke at length about how participating in sports and games plays a vital role in instilling in young minds important values like discipline, dedication and the spirit of sportsmanship.

Such events provide opportunities to these rural kids make a mark of their own in their field of interest.

The little ones came dressed in beautiful fancy attires and had a Ramp Walk on stage.

The purpose of such competition for juniors was not only to blend learning with fun but also to develop confidence in students by giving each student an opportunity to get on stage and speak in front of audience.

The students were free to choose their own character and were judged according to attire, presentation and confidence.

With the era of modernization, it is essential for the students to excel their skills in practically every domain of life.

So, this platform was provided by ‘Brain O Brain’ for the students to brush up their abilities. It was established in 2003 as a full-fledged programme for unique skill development, where the children’s brain are nurtured to develop some of the foundation skills for learning. It empowers them with a good boost of self-confidence.

Activities such as Mental Maths, Logical Activity, T.V. Champs, Speed Handwriting are conducted as a part of the skill development programme.

A few Students of Akal Academy Gomtipul also participated in this and they proved their knowledge at its best.

They achieved a remarkable position in the competition.
Our Achievers were as follows

Shivansh Pandey of class III A bagged the 1st position in the Puranpur city in Mental Maths and achieved 6th in logical activity at State level out of 1285 students.

He got a Gold Medal and a Silver medal with certificate.

Lakshya Agarwal of same grade achieved 4th rank in mental maths and 13th in logical activity out of 1285 participants at the state level. He got a Gold Medal and a certificate.

Adarsh Singh took 10th rank in Mental Maths in the city, 6th in the state out of 1120 participants. He got a Gold Medal and a certificate.

Akal Academy, Basarke has been built by a Doctor couple from Philadelphia USA in memory of their elder; Dr Kharag Singh Sachdeva, who incidentally was the first Principal of Punjab’s oldest premier Medical Institute, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot.

Students participated in the clay modelling activities and moulding the colourful clay into attractive shapes and creative models. It was an Inter House competition conducted for students belonging from Nursery to Fourth Grade.

Such activities are meant to help children develop imagination and spark creativity. It also helps to develop hand-eye coordination.

It is a delight to realize that these Rural Kids too are enjoying through days of childhood, having fun, the way we all did, the way every child deserves.

With the objectives of sharpening teachers’ potential pedagogical skills and enhance effective teaching, Akal Academy Kajri Niranjanpur under the aegis of Kalghidhar Education Trust, Baru Sahib, hosted a Two Day Hindi workshop in collaboration with Cordova Publication Gurgaon, New Delhi. The Workshop was conducted by Mr Trilok Kaushik, a renowned educationist and author of School books.

To begin with, the resource person Mr. Trilok Kaushik and his team were welcomed by the host Principal Akal Academy Kajri, Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind and Mrs Rangbir Kaur, Cluster head of Akal academies U.P region. Later Mrs Kanchan Mishra HOD DEPT OF HINDI briefly highlighted the schedule of the workshop and welcomed the participating teachers from Akal Academy Kajri, Akal Academy Gomti, Akal Academy Telipura About 18 Hindi Language teachers of these academies attended the workshop with great learning zest, and enthusiasm.

In the opening session, the resource person called upon the need of the participants one by one to read Swara and Vyanjna. He elaborated on the need of correct pronunciation, accent of the same to bring accuracy in both spoken and written.

In the second half of the first day, problems faced by teachers and children in poetry and prose teaching and reading were widely discussed. Teachers’ queries were answered with examples taken from course books. Later teachers were motivated to compose poem in blank verse. In the concluding session of the first day feedback from the teachers was taken and their general queries were answered.

The second day of the workshop was practical based. Mr. Trilok Kaushik welcomed the participants and motivated the teachers to compose moral based story. A visual poem was shown and its critical appreciation was practically done by the teachers. To boost up writing skills, creativity of the learners, tips were given on formal and informal letter writing. During the entire workshop Teachers remained sincerely engrossed in their work. On the closing day Teachers’ feedback was taken, their general and personal teaching problems were taken into consideration. Finally feedback of the teachers was recorded and the Principal Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind thankfully bid adieu to the resource people and the participants. Mrs. Rangbir Kaur Cluster Head of Academies too expressed her satisfaction on the outcome of the workshop. She thanked Cordova Publications and the resource person Mr. Trilok Kaushik for his valuable contribution. It was really a wonderful learning experience for the teachers. Mr. Philip Xavier, (Media Coordinator), Mr. Pawan Katara RC coordinator too contributed a lot to make this workshop a success.

In Akal Academy Gomtipul, after the daily routine of Nitnem, students and teachers celebrated the Prakash Purab of Shri Guru Ramdas Ji with holistic Zeal.

The Programme was organised in the Darbaar Sahib and at the very outset of the Programme Shabad Kirtan was recited and poems were sung by the students of Class VIII A,B and C.

Senior students sung the shabad “Amritsar Vich Jot Jagawe” and mesmerized the Darbar Sahib with spiritual ray . Students also gave speech about the eminent life of Guru ji and then there was open discussion about it.

The programme acknowledged the folks about the distinguished life of guru ji and gave important lesson of following the religion steadfastly.

The artist’s world is limitless. It can be found anywhere, far from where he lives or a few feet away. It is always on his doorstep. Just reviving the above quote in letter and spirit, Akal Academy Kajri budding artists had a great day to show up their talent and imagination in drawing competition organized by Kalabharti Art Development Institute, Pune, Maharashtra. Nearly 114 participants took part in this competition at entry level.

Declaring the list of winners Rajdeep Kaur of VIIIE, Puneet Kaur of VB and Gurneet Kaur of VB were selected the best entries for medal category.

The Principal, Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind and Art and Craft Teacher Mrs. Kiranjeet Kaur were present during the Medal giving ceremony held in the school. In her talk to all participating artists she inspired them to keep up their illustration work and make it perfect. Remaining all participant got certificates of Participation. Mr. Philip Xavier Media Coordinator was present on the occasion.
