On the Occasion of 149th birth anniversary of Sant Attar Singh Ji Mastaune Wale, the ‘Inter Academy Gurmat competitions’ were organised. During these competitions Sant Baba Harcharan Singh Nanksar Kutiya, Smt. Paramjit Kaur Principal In Service of Teacher Training Sangrur & D.E.O. Sangrur, Smt. Paramjit Kaur Dhilon, Principal Mastauna Sahib Academy, were the honourable Chief guests.

In the competition of Dhadi Vaaran, students of Akal Academy Makhangarh, AA Mander, and AA Balbehra received first, second and third position respectively. In Kavisri competition AA Seona got 1st, AA Ratolan got 2nd and AA Mehal Kalan got 3rd position. In Shabad competition AA Seona, AA Makhangarh, AA Sujaanpur got 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. In poetry competition AA Seona got 1st, AA Benra got 2nd and AA Manoli Surat got 3rd position. The students of AA Balbehra performed drama on “Jafarnama”.

The stage was conducted by S. Surinderpal Sidqui and S. Ajmer Singh. On this occasion Dr. Iqbal Singh, S. Sukhraj Singh, Principal Malkit Singh Khatra, S. Ramandeep Singh, S. Ranjit Singh Sarang, S. Siasat Singh Dugga were the honourable judges. The program was conducted under the guidance of Principal Baljeet Kaur AA Cheema, S. Labh Singh from Guru Gobind Singh study circle, Navjot Kaur, Narinderjit Kaur, Manjit Singh Bakshi Ex. DPRO, S. Harbhajan Singh, Thirth Singh, S. Jagraj Singh, S. Jaswant Singh, S. Every nation and community has its own flag, which symbolises and reflects its culture and tradition and is also a symbol of its honour and dignity.

On seeing the Sikh flag (Nishan Sahib), it immediately strikes that it represents a Sikh temple (Gurdwara), a place for the worship of the Supreme Being.

In Sikh tradition, it was Guru Hargobind, the sixth Divine Master, who for the first time had high flying flags (Nishan Sahib) installed at the Akal Takht in Amritsar. Ever since, it has become a tradition to have a Sikh flag (Nishan Sahib) flown high on the premises of the Gurdwara. The holy flag proclaims the greatness of God. It invites all people to break all barriers and come together to the Sikh temple, sing glories of the Almighty Lord, worship him to perceive spiritual values and make lives successful.

The Sikh flag features the design of two swords crossed at the hilt and spread wide towards the upper side of the flag. These symbolise the principle of Miri-Piri, i.e., doing worldly affairs according to the principles of spirituality. In the centre, between the two swords is painted the double-edged sword, which signifies the fusion of the two swords of Miri and Piri into one double edged sword (Khanda), signifying the combining of the creed of Miri and Piri – doing worldly affairs with the values of spirituality. The double-edged sword is encircled with a ring, which symbolises that the Divine Power pervades everywhere and has no beginning or an end.

ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਾਨ ਸੰਤ ਬਾਬਾ ਅਤਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਮਸਤੂਆਣੇ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ੩੦, ੩੧ ਜਨਵਰੀ ਅਤੇ ੧ ਫਰਵਰੀ ੨੦੧੫ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਲਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਮਸਤੂਆਣਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ‘ਚ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਅਸਥਾਨ, ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਚੀਮਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਮਸਤੂਆਣਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੱਕ ਦਾ ਅਲੌਕਿਕ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਜਨਮ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਛਤਰ ਸਾਇਆ ਹੇਠ ਅਲੌਕਿਕ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਅਰੰਭ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅਕਾਲ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਵਿਦਿਆਲਿਆ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਮਾਰਸ਼ਲ ਆਰਟਸ (ਗੱਤਕਾ) ਦੇ ਜੌਹਰ ਵਿਖਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਕੀਰਤਨੀ ਜੱਥੇ ਅਤੇ ਢਾਡੀ ਜੱਥਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਗੁਰ-ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਸਰਵਣ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ। ਅਕਾਲ ਟੀਚਰ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਿੰਗ ਚੀਮਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥਣਾਂ ਨੇ ਫ਼ੌਜ਼ੀ ਬੈੱਡ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਲਗਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਚੀਮਾਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਸੰਤ ਸੇਵਕ ਜੱਥੇ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ-ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ। ਚੀਮਾਂ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਦਾ ਪਿੰਡ ਝਾੜੋਂ, ਸ਼ਾਹਪੁਰ ਕਲਾਂ, ਸ਼ੇਰੋਂ, ਨਮੋਲ, ਉਭਾਵਾਲ, ਭੰਮਾਬੱਦੀ, ਬਡਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ, ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕਮੇਟੀਆਂ, ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰੋਪਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਂਤ-ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਲੰਗਰ ਲਗਾ ਕੇ ਨਿੱਘਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਰਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੋਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੜੈਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਬਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਰਨਾ ਦਲ ਨਿਹੰਗ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਨਗਰ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਸਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਅਕੈਡਮੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੁੱਜਣ ‘ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਬਲਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ, ਬਾਬਾ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ, ਬਾਬਾ ਨੈਬ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸਮੂਹ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ ਨਿੱਘਾ ਸੁਆਗਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ|

US President Barack Obama concluded his three-day visit to India today. His last engagement addressed before a select gathering at Delhi’s Siri Fort Auditorium.

US President Barack Obama has said his country can become India’s “best partner” as he concludes a landmark three-day visit to Delhi.

But he stressed that climate change could not be reversed unless India embraced cleaner fuels.

Mr Obama was addressing an audience largely made up of students at a town hall meeting in India’s capital.

He said on Monday there was “much-untapped potential” in the US-Indian economic relationship.

Some 2,000 people – mostly students and one of this year’s two Nobel Peace Prize winners, Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi – cheered wildly as President Obama described relations between the two countries as the defining partnership of the 21st Century.

“India and the United States are not just natural partners – I believe that America can be India’s best partner,” Mr Obama said.

But President Obama warned that the world does not “stand a chance against climate change” unless developing countries like India reduce dependence on fossil fuels.”Of course, only Indians can decide India’s role in the world. But I’m here because I am absolutely convinced that both our peoples will have more jobs and opportunity, our nations will be more secure, and the world will be a safer and more just place when our two democracies stand together.”

He also spoke of the importance of religious tolerance and raised the issue of women’s safety and dignity.

“In both of our countries, in all countries, upholding this fundamental freedom [of religion] is the responsibility of the government, but its also the responsibility of every person,” President Obama said.

And he said “every woman should be able to go about her day – to walk the street, or ride the bus – and be safe and be treated with the respect and dignity that she deserves.”

Dr Davinder Singh, Secretary of Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib was invited to represent the Kalgidhar Society at Siri Fort as part of the select gathering invited to the ceremony.
