Akal Academy Dhotian prepares the students to be Well-Equipped in Modern World. Mixing technology in the classroom supports learning and builds students’ confidence. It gives students a sense of purpose and their attitude toward their education becomes positive.

A computer laboratory enhances the learning environment at school & helps in developing the personality of the child to face the modern world. Technology is of the greatest value to teachers when it is available in the classroom. Technology is an information vehicle that challenges elementary students intellectually by giving them immediate access to information online. The only way in which learners can attain digital literacy is by having hands-on experience with computer equipment. Rural schools have limited access to computer equipment and limited technology in the classroom may not give learners an opportunity to use it to the extent that they can build computer skills. A computer room allows learners to become comfortable in the use of computer equipment.

Drill-and-practice exercises can be given to learners, honing numeracy and mathematical abilities. On-line assessment is a great time saver for teachers. Learners can visit the computer room after hours to engage in e-learning courses or do revision of notes which are available in digital format – each learner at his or her own pace.

Teachers are encouraged to bring technology into their classrooms.

Milkha Singh is the Greatest living Sikh Athlete. The Flying Sikh was recently acknowledged among the Nations Top Achievers by The US President, Barak Obama.

Addressing a Town hall event at Siri Fort auditorium in Delhi on the third and final day of his visit to India, Obama lauded Milkha and Mary Kom among others as achievers, while making a point that courage and humanitarian values unify both the nations.

A pleasantly surprised Milkha Singh said that United States President Barack Obama mentioning him as one of the national icons was all the more satisfying as it came from an inspiring personality like him.
Milkha said “those who live for the good of the country and those who bring laurels to the country always remain in the hearts of people”.

“It is all the more heartening that it came from an inspiring person like him. His grandfather worked as a cook and he is from a humble background who rose to such a high position. It is certainly something I will cherish,” said octogenarian Milkha, who missed a 400m bronze medal by a whisker in 1960 Rome Olympics.

US President Barack Obama concluded his three-day visit to India today. His last engagement addressed before a select gathering at Delhi’s Siri Fort Auditorium.

US President Barack Obama has said his country can become India’s “best partner” as he concludes a landmark three-day visit to Delhi.

But he stressed that climate change could not be reversed unless India embraced cleaner fuels.

Mr Obama was addressing an audience largely made up of students at a town hall meeting in India’s capital.

He said on Monday there was “much-untapped potential” in the US-Indian economic relationship.

Some 2,000 people – mostly students and one of this year’s two Nobel Peace Prize winners, Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi – cheered wildly as President Obama described relations between the two countries as the defining partnership of the 21st Century.

“India and the United States are not just natural partners – I believe that America can be India’s best partner,” Mr Obama said.

But President Obama warned that the world does not “stand a chance against climate change” unless developing countries like India reduce dependence on fossil fuels.”Of course, only Indians can decide India’s role in the world. But I’m here because I am absolutely convinced that both our peoples will have more jobs and opportunity, our nations will be more secure, and the world will be a safer and more just place when our two democracies stand together.”

He also spoke of the importance of religious tolerance and raised the issue of women’s safety and dignity.

“In both of our countries, in all countries, upholding this fundamental freedom [of religion] is the responsibility of the government, but its also the responsibility of every person,” President Obama said.

And he said “every woman should be able to go about her day – to walk the street, or ride the bus – and be safe and be treated with the respect and dignity that she deserves.”

Dr Davinder Singh, Secretary of Kalgidhar Trust, Baru Sahib was invited to represent the Kalgidhar Society at Siri Fort as part of the select gathering invited to the ceremony.

Do you know about the religious significance of Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib?

There lived a learned Pandit, Lal Chand by name, who was proud of his caste as well as of his learning. He came to see the Guru with devotion and asked, “It is said that you sit on the gaddi of Guru Nanak, but what do you know of the old religious books?”

Do you know about the religious significance of Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib?

Gurdwara Panjokra Sahib 4

By chance Chhaju Ram, an illiterate dark-skinned village water carrier happened to pass by at that moment. Guru Harkrishan asked one Dargah Mal to call him. As Chhaju Ram came, the Guru enquired if he would explain to the Pandit the gist of Bhagavad Gita. On this GURU SAHIB blessed a Deaf & Dumb told him to take a bath in a Sarovar nearby, placed a stick on his head and finally he interpreted the Bhagwad Gita. On this Padit Lal Chand asked GURU JI to forgive him for his mistake and he became a follower of GURU JI after this episode. Thereafter, he spent all his life preaching Sikhism. Both he and Chhaju Ram became the disciples of the great Guru and traveled with him up to Kurukshetra.

Do you know about the religious significance of Gurdwara Panjokhra Sahib?

It is said that Pandit Lal Chand entered the fold of Khalsa, in Guru Gobind Singh’s time and took the name, Lal Singh. He met with a hero’s death fighting in the battle of Chamkaur, on December 7, 1705.

According to historical records, Guru Harkrishan on reaching village Panjokhra, made a boundary of sand and said that anyone who wanted to see him, should stand there, make his supplication and he would have his desire fulfilled. A shrine has been built at the site.
