Uprising the buds of spirituality among the students, an appreciable effort was made by Akal Academy, Bhadaur in keeping the principles of Sikhism uprooted. Akal Academy, Bhadaur conducted an Amrit Sanchan Program on 19th October with the participation of 25 students, their parents and three teachers.

The Amrit pan took place at Gurdwara Patshahi Chevin, Barnala District. All the transport facilities were made by the academy. The academies have been successful in imparting spiritual education with modern education sufficing the ideas laid by Baba Iqbal Singh ji.

Special Report – Akal Academies Hold Inter Academy Athletic Meet to Motivate Students to Keep Fit!

In the wake of motivating the students across Akal Academies about the importance of keeping fit and staying away from the Drug Menace, the volunteer Akal Academies in each quarter are holding Inter Academy Athletic Meet among the Academies in the periphery.

Starting with the Kirtan, the events are being well organised with the students participating in them with all enthusiasm and winning medals in appreciations. The respective Chief Guests were called upon and the students were given prizes and appreciations. After the prize distributions, the academies also appreciated the toppers in Academic Skills.

All in all, the athletic meet is being held to keep the students motivated to keep fit and spread the message of carrying sports spirit in keeping away from drug addiction.

Akal Academy Kajri tiny tots Hold Amrit Sanchar Awareness Rally!

 

This precept of life is always given a practical exposure in Akal Academies. Raising the same spirit to the surface, Akal Academy Kajri U.P. Nursery KG wing conducted Amrit Sanchar Awareness Programme. The Tiny tots of the school magnificently adorned in turbans and other valued Sikhi outfits made a distinctive appearance in the school corridors.

The Primary school wing of the school echoed slogans , “Karna Sikhi da Prachar, Saari duniya de vichkaar” Amirt Chhako Sada sukhi vasso,. The teachers Mrs. Sukhpreet Kaur, Mrs Jasbir Kaur, Miss Kiranjot Kaur, Miss Jasbir Kaur, Mrs. Poonam Kaur, Mrs Gurjeet Kaur, also joined the programme to motivate the children. Mr. Phillip Xavier, Media Coordinator was also present at the occasion. The Principal Mrs. Simran Kaur Thind graced the occasion with her encouraging words.

An Inter-Academy Athletics Championship was organised on 15th October amongst 170 participants from 4 Akal Academies; Madhopur, Reethkheri, Ranno, Dhudial. The Guest of Honour for the event was Bhai Harpal Singh, The Head Granthi of Gurdwara Fathehgarh Sahib. The students of the rural schools participated with a lot of enthusiasm and team spirit. The event took place in the presence of The Principal, Mrs Parminder Kaur, who appreciated the efforts of the students and inspired them to keep up their sportsman spirit, adding glory to academies by their victories.

Students of Akal Academy, Salam Khera, Fatehabad participated in a district level sports competition organised for under 14 girls. The students of the academy brought proud by bagging the first position in Hockey.

Principal, Mrs Jaybala appreciated the spectacular performance shown by the students and motivated the students to keep participating in such co curricular activities and keep bringing good name to the Akal Academies. Adding to this she also appreciated the under 14 girls team who won a gold medal.

In athletics, a student held the first position in 400m long race and second position in 100m shot put competition. The Sports Team of Akal academy was acknowledged for the victory !

Cleanliness Awareness Campaign by Akal Academy Gomtipul!

Akal Academy Gomtipul is running a “Cleaniness Awareness Campaign” in the month of October2014 as per the instructions from CBSE for launching of “ Swachh Bharat”, “Swachh Vidhyalaya” Campaign. All the students are made aware about keeping their surroundings clean and tidy. Each day, students perform cleaning activities in the school campus. They sweep their classes daily and wash the floorings once a week. They clean their corridors and other visiting areas in the school campus. All the students are participating actively in this campaign without any hesitation .

Learning through PYP Exhibitions… Exclusive Learning Program for Grade 5 PYP Students!

PYP Exhibition was held at Akal Academy, Baru Sahib on October 4, 2014, a concept authorized by IB (International Baccalaureate) in November last year. It is mandatory for the Grade 5 PYP students of IB World Schools to showcase their learning in the form of Exhibition in one of the last units of their concept-based and inquiry based learning.

Grade fivers of Akal Academy, Baru Sahib enthralled the audience with their wonderful performance of their learning in PYP by means of Power Point Presentations, displays and live performance of Music band, Dance and Drama to exhibit the central idea – Performing art as an opportunity to explore passion and stimulates social change. The Grade V teachers laid the solid foundation in crystallizing the knowledge and blending performance beautifully and artistically.

In the final year of Primary Years Program, the Grade 5 students take up exhibition as a culminating project. It’s a demonstration of students’ engagement with the five essential elements of the program: knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes and action. Exhibition represents a significant event in the life of a PYP student, synthesising the essential elements and sharing them with the whole-school community.

Parents, representatives from other IB world schools and other guests were spell bound by the synthesis and creativity in depicting the journey of inquiry undertaken by the 11-12 year old students.

Students of Akal Academy – Bhadaur participate in Inter-House Sports event!

Akal Academy Bhadaur organized an “Inter House Gurmat quiz competition on Oct, 4, 2014 in central corridor after Lunch break. It was conducted by Amul house & Divinity Incharge. The students of 6th to 10th grades participated in this competition. There were 7 rounds:Each round carry 1 mark. In this competition Abhai house got the Ist position, Ajay house got the 2nd position and Amul house got the 3rd position.

Students of Akal Academy – Baru Sahib Win Gold Medal in Yoga Competition!

Students of Akal Academy – Baru Sahib have Won Gold Medal in National Yoga Competition and have brought pride to not only the Academy but also the Sirmour District!

The Yoga Competition was held in Baba Balaji Ashram – Kotlakalan where around 350 students participated from 10 districts from which the students of Akal Academy – Baru Sahib were the best ones among the competition and Jaskirat Singh of claas IX not only won the Gold medal under the 14-17 age group but also has been selected for the National Competition to be held in December in Hyderabad!

Coach Anupam Sharma informed about Veerpal Singh competing under 8-11 age group won the Bronze Medal. Principal – Akal Academy – Baru Sahib, Dr. Neelam Kaur appreciated the students and the coach on the occasion!
